I failed completely, and it was magnificent.
Original Plan:
- Tauren Druid Main, gather all the things --> $$
- Troll Spriest, melt all the faces, Ench/Tailor
Reality:
- UD female Warlock, Herb/Skinning --> $$
- ???
- Hella fun.
I am not a super tryhard but I did a lot of reading about both Druid and Priest in the run up to Classic launch, learned so much fun stuff and fell in love with both classes. Time well spent.
But then I started playing, and realized that despite my best intentions I am not really a support oriented dude. I am too lazy to take on the responsibility of tanking or healing in my limited play time, so just admitting that I am most happy pumping out damage with no one else really depending on me relieves a lot of anxiety.
Second realization is that I get lonely when I’m leveling/playing. I have a great friendly guild, that’s not the issue… I miss pets. Yep, I need a companion to spend time with in-game, to fight side by side with, and not one of those highly strung toons I see running around either. In Vanilla I was a hunter and bonded with my pets, but I’m not interested in replaying that journey.
Enter, Warlock.
NOW things feel right. DOTing enemies up, fear juggling, voidwalker tanking and face tanking when getting bum rushed… same level of complexity I loved with Hunter, but new and fun game play this time.
So my plan fell apart, but I had a blast putting it together and ended up learning more about the ways in which I have the most fun playing WoW.
Good times! Thank you Classic!
How has your pre-release “plan” fared so far?
