the old forums were awesome. the trolling was top notch, people were theory crafting classes (i wish i could see the archive of them bc i had a holy priest guide in vanilla and did one on holy pally in tbc) and the meltdowns were the stuff of legend. they didn’t even have most of the current sites around at the time too. think there was mmochamp and ask jeeves and i can even remember what else lol. loooong time ago

I like the old forums better and it’s not just nostalgia talking.

I’d love to have them back if all the people that were around then came back too.

Those were fun times. I miss that.

The old crew, original crew was around in those days. Devs, mgmt, etc…
That’s why it was so much fun.
That was before all the scandals and stuff that came after.

I remember being able to pose my character on the armory. If I remember correctly, that was around the Cata era.

They are the exact same as they are now just slightly more blue post and slightly less toxicity.

Just because they looked slightly different didn’t make them any different. Still a bunch of people griping about seemingly stupid things such as “Who remembers the old WoW forums?”

My server sub forums were lit. It was like watching a girl fight on the playground.

Ahh the good old days, where Tuesday was the day people made terrible topics instead of Sunday.

Blizz promised the old forums would still be accessible as read-only after the switch.
Soon as the new forums were up and stable the old ones went offline forever.
Absolutely nuked the old lore, everything from the class communities for vanilla/bc/wrath.

There’s some random stuff on the wayback machine but not nearly enough.

For real, the old forums were the wild west. Could never count on mods to show up, the rogue forums were famous for self-policing by out-trolling the trolls. Used to kick them around like hacky sacks.

Edit: Example:

When rogues lost our past we lost our souls. We don’t even remember how to dorhelbic our gurfarben. The new generations were never inducted into the old knowledge after the loss of the ancient texts. :persevere:

It was the 2000’s, the internet was a decade old and rather newish, it was still like the wild west back then.
