The Void and Light see possibilities not the True Timeline! For the True Timeline there is only this moment. That is the first lesson taught by the Titans to Nozdormu and by Illidan to Velen!

The Titans are not infallible. What you’re describing is the Titan view of Destiny. The Light’s view is that there is one True path, while the Void see’s all possibilities as True. The Titans seem to see only the moment as True.

That having been said, the blog was an interesting read!

My guess as to what separates Necromancers from Val’kyr/Liches/the Lich King is one of two things.

1. Necromancers aren’t always dead. Val’kyr are dead, so are Liches, and the Lich King was as well. In that sense they are much more, ‘of the Shadowlands,’ and of Death Magic itself, and thus their actions are more justified. To put it another way, the Kyrians don’t interfere in the cycle of rebirth in Ardenweald. I don’t think they interfere with Necromancy that comes from the source of Death Magic itself, and thus, from the undead.

2. It could also be that most Necromancers aren’t using actual Death Magic. We’ve seen that both the Arcane and Void can be used to emulate necromancy, or perhaps to simply employ a different form of it. Liches, the Lich King, and the Val’kyr are all products of the power of the Shadowlands through Frostmourne and the Helm of Domination, whereas Necromancers, even among the Scourge, aren’t necessarily.

I think this may be right and I just wanted to add to it. Helya appears to be connected to the Val’kyr and also seems to have made deals with the Jailer. While we’ve been assuming that those deals were made when she met with Sylvanas, it’s entirely possible her association with Death goes back further than that. That would give her some “claim” on the power of death that the Kyrian can’t interfere with. Same goes for the Lich King and, consequently, his Liches. It probably even was true for Scourge Necromancers, like the Death Knights who have continued to use Necromancy even after Bolvar took up the helm.

It may just be that certain sources of power are “valid” and others are not. Given some of the reveals about the nature of Dreadlords, that might also explain why they are able to use Necromancy. Val’kyr, Dreadlords, the Lich King and his servants are all the primary uses of Necromancy we’ve seen. Other than that have been two bits like some Quillboar or Mogu, and quite possibly a Mogu necromancer is who the Mantid was sent back to kill.
