Yeah probably, that’s not the point of that comment. The point is comparing top guilds from 15 years ago and top guilds today is moot. The casual guilds clearing Naxx today in classic outperform most ‘hardcore’ guilds of vanilla without min/maxing. So pretending that the guilds back in the day somehow had a better understanding of the game than people do today just because they were considered ‘hardcore’ back then is ridiculous
I dont believe this is true.
Tbc =/= Classic
You think they were stacking shamans for the healing??? ![]()
It’s all kinda starting to add up now…
They were running back to the start of the raid every 30 mins for rebuffs. That is beyond stupid.
They were gimping their dps by not having a seal of wis up on the boss at all times, because they couldn’t have a prot pally tank it.
What in the world are you even talking about???
You don’t know about hunter mana issues in TBC?
I dont remember them having any, but I was Ret and we had 3 paladins in the raid judging…
So if 2-3 hunters max have to use runes = gimping their dps? Just stop dude, lol
Clearly you know very little.
Lol. How much TBC raiding you done? Doesn’t look like you’ve even set foot in a classic raid
Lol, you are literally posting on a lvl 16 telling someone with a classic avatar in AQ40 gear that they look like they never set foot in a classic raid.
Here’s a screenshot I took of my holy pally after a failed Brutalus attempt in SWP:

How much SWP raiding have YOU done?
I’ve cleared the raid multiple times and killed Muru pre-nerf.
Heres a picture I took as proof

You’ll notice how I included a link in my post without butchering it. I’d be happy to coach you on in-game mechanics as well. My prices are very reasonable
Yeah I thought as much, just a worthless forum troll
You seem upset
Upset that I wasted time replying to you
Whew boy this really took on a life of its own.
While Bearhands is mostly correct, there are still fundamental mentality differences between then and now that will result in significant changes to raid comps at the highest level.
Back then, split raids and “extreme” class stacking just weren’t a thing yet, even at the highest level. Today, they’re a fundamental aspect of high-end raiding. Back in 2007, all the high-end guilds were running fairly balanced raid comps, + or - a few resto shaman, mages, resto druid, etc. In Classic TBC, you’re going to see A LOT of extreme stacking, in favor of resto shaman, warlocks, and hunters. I’m talking, 5 resto shaman, 8+ warlocks, 8+ hunter comps. These stacked raids are going to be doing WAY more dps than the best guilds in the world were doing back in original TBC, especially in the early raid tiers. It’s going to be very similar to how raids ended up being in Classic Vanilla: significantly easier than you remember them being.
And from someone who mained hunter in one of the most tryhard US guilds that ever existed (vodka), yea, JoW was absolutely essential. On Brutallus, it was the difference between being able to get a 2800+ parse vs having to Viper multiple times and settling for a 2300. JoW is HUGE in TBC.
looks at classic
yeaah who would?
