Who is the most attractive WoW character - to you?

If getting abandoned by the rich is the pre-requisite for talking dinosaur appliances, I’m going to be honest, it might be worth it.

This is tough, because I don’t think there’s many I am, but let me give it a try.

  1. Personality - Uhh… Occuleth’s personality is one of my favorites, I will have to say. I’m not attracted to his looks, but his personality? Definitely.
  2. Voice - Oh this one is easy, Darkmaster Gandling. Like for some reason I’m like “Wow… his voice though :flushed:.” His quotes too. Love it.
  3. Look - So, I’m attracted to gothic/punkish style on elves & humans. (Right, Zandalari would qualify, I also find them attractive.) Meaning the selection of that is pretty low. It comes as a surprise to no one that knows me here, I’m sure, that I adore the Blood Princes. Specifically, Taladram, I like red/reddish colors the best. The new version of Kael also is particularly attractive to me, the tombstone version anyway.
  4. Overall, I can’t say there’s anyone specifically. I make most of my characters that are aesthetically pleasing to myself (gothic/punkish), so I guess any one of my male characters with a tiny dash of my female characters (far less. I’d sat 15% female, 85% male, in terms of ‘attracted by me specifically’). I do have art of many of them too if anyone is curious. :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit: I’m a derp, Illidan wins my ‘overall’ choice, he slipped my mind for no discernable reason other than the fact that I’m a derp.

If I had to pick male characters I’d choose Nathanos for his charming personality and endearing looks. (I’m dead serious)

I’d choose Illidan for overall aesthetic because being a fel infused tattoo boi with wings is frankly great.

Despite the annoyance she gave us while questing in the Valley of the Four Winds and her inability to age naturally Lili Stormstout has an enthusiastic core of chaotic activity that I find intriguing.

Although any expression of interest towards her should be tempered with caution however as she her preferred method of antagonized retaliation often ends in broken bones.

Ok I feel like a fool because Illidan is my first “Overall” choice and just entirely escaped my mind. This is what happens when I space out/draw a blank. But yeah, actually Illidan is my top choice. I’m a disgrace for not even thinking about that, lol.

As for Nathanos, that’s fair! I do find him attractive, yes, in terms of looks.

She is a Mary Sue.

How is she a Mary Sue, she’s literally failed at everything she’s ever tried to do. She’s died three times… she was kicked out of every job she ever had…

HOW?!

Yes she is pretty cool, just like Jaina

My number one WoW waifu is Usha Eyegouge, no contest.

You can just hear those words echoing in your mind.

One of the indicators for a marry sue is a character that is cannonically praised for all her actions.

Everyone universally despises Sylvanas save for Anduin who seems to believe he can use talk no jutsu to deescalate the situation.

She’s quite literally the exact opposite of a Mary Sue. :man_shrugging:

Really the only thing I see going for her is that she has too much power for her own good. I don’t think that makes you a marry sue by default, it’s more to do with how the story is contextualized. Thrall was more of a marry sue imo. Being able to 1-shot Deathwing, appointing a warlord as leader of the Horde, cheating in a mak’gora, among other things - while facing almost no opposition whatsoever,

There’s a reason why people call him green jesus lol

He is a much better example, or Anduin or Jaina, or Calia.

I think people dislike her, and see that she’s a powerful female character, so she gets called a Mary Sue.

I don’t think they’re a marry sue either.

I dislike Anduins character most, he’s way too passive. I’m hoping the story really shows how that leads to more problems. I think they should focus on how the night elves lost trust in the high king for not having their back at Teldrassil.

I think Jaina’s a decently complex character. She filled her heart up with hatred after the bombing of Theramore, and has to mend the trust she broke with her mother back on Kul’tiras. I actually got emotional.

Calia is just a mistake. Not even a Mary Sue, just an abomination that should not be.

There’s varying types and categories of mary sue. I know this because I made quite a few in my day. Grew out of it and tweaked a few of them except one. But he’s the fun type of mary sue. Like Dante from Devil May Cry. Where as a bad example would be “Donte” from DMC. If a mary sue has a fun personality then they’re way more tolerable

You’re talking about a neologism, and that new definition was thought up by illiterate people with mommy issues.

Tough love general chat.

…???

Generally when people complain about characters like Sylvanas, they don’t make great arguments. They call her a Mary Sue, because she’s supposedly powerful. This usually specifically happens with female characters.

Lol

There’s not really a standard criteria for what defines a Mary Sue seeing as it’s a subjective construct. It mostly has to do with character development from an inexperienced writer that tends to face varying pitfalls and tropes in their ability to design a character.

A self aware Mary Sue isn’t a Mary Sue. Rather, it’s a character that represents the idea of a Mary Sue which I believe is a very different thing.
