Who is Ezra Grimm?

ONE Pharaoh. They tried to erase the record of ONE Pharaoh who threw out the country’s whole religious system and replaced it with his own, and whose reign was the beginning of the decline of Egypt.

Jesus, if you’re going to try to cite history to (poorly) illustrate a point, at least get it right.

“Ezra is a biblical name meaning “help” or “helper” in Hebrew . The Ezra of the Bible was a Jewish priest who helped reintroduce the Torah to the Jewish people who escaped captivity in Babylon.”

Probably reaching but given Babylon has pretty strong symbolic implications.

The name altogether could mean something like helping us find our way back to God away from sin. However Babylon also stands for diversity.

Sorry, just felt like reaching.

Pot meet kettle.

You’re so wrong it’s not even funny.

Hatshepsut was a female pharoah that the men tried to erase. Akhenaten And Nefertiti were also attempted to be erased. And Horemheb tried to erase multiple pharoahs before him.

If it means Helper then Ezra Grimm could mean “Helper of Fairytales” basically.

Possible. Grimm could also mean angry though. “grimmig” in German means something like angry yet fierce (think it does in English too? Grim?)

The surname could be a reference to the Brothers Grimm.

I recommend looking up the Brothers Grimm on Wikipedia - it’s an amazing story.

Yeah in english it means more depicting gritty roughness and usually something bad: “It was a grim scene, with bodies strewn across the battlefield” Dictionary says “uninviting, forbidding, depressing”

Who the hell is bario matali?

Cooking trainer in Stormwind. Was once a reference to famous chef and entrepreneur Mario Batali, who had to sell off his restaurants years ago after a string of sexual assault allegations. His NPC was renamed to Jon Casper shortly afterwards.

Bring Back Woo Ping.
He was able to solo Deathwing and singlehandedly saved Stormwind.

He was promised to return (by a GM, so probably someone they fired  )

You seem to be confusing real life with a fantasy game. As far as I know Afrasiabi still exists, Blizzard does not have the power to erase him from history. C’mon now.

Ezra Grimm is a very cool name.

Thanks, i had no idea about all that lol.

I know the Grimm fairytales, I just figured “Ezra Grimm” was a specific person either in lore or IRL they chose to use. A quick google search didn’t turn up anything conclusive for “Ezra Grimm” so I figured I’d ask.

This has been an interesting read though, all these comments. Thanks!

Perhaps you missed the 2nd part of his sentence. The removing people from history part… Which IS comparable.

Don’t be intentionally obtuse.

It’s not remotely comparable at all. Don’t be absurd.

Removing the glorification of a creepy person is not in the same realm as removing that person’s history. His work will remain, his glorifications will not.

You seem to have missed the point.

Ezra is a common Jewish name.

I did not miss the point, you were arguing that it’s the same thing ancient Egypt did. Blizzard removed a character from a video game named after a man, ancient Egypt erased a persons entire history in real life. It’s not the same at all.
