Who has trouble with the last boss of DoS?

It all depends with the big guy. Well it all depends on the group that is. It is basically dodge and get crud away from the group as best you can, then burn those stupid adds properly, which can be a pain.

The Dedicated Union of Retribution Paladins would like to thank you for your service.

Blessing of spell warding is your friend here.

Adding raid boss mechanics to dungeons and then nerfing the rewards of said dungeons seems like the Blizzard thing to do…

If you click the little arrow to the left of your party frames, it will open up a small toolkit with markers on it. Click on the button with a flag icon, choose which marker you want, then choose where to place it on the ground.

Yes I find it easy, but the reason people keep failing is pretty much that they cannot place the balls to the side, what on earth makes you think that they are not going to stand inside them when they explode?

And even people who use DBM or Little Wigs when the timer starts counting from their character, they still miss it, they still stand still and just drop the balls anywhere.

And using those addons blatantly tells you in big fat writing in the middle of your screen what is going on, they still make mistakes, no chance they are going to avoid the exploding balls.

That’s what I am wondering how people, especially ranged, no do a literal two mechanics. And you don’t even have to do anything on the first part, just avoid Master of Death and don’t stand inside the balls, the real fight is when you go into your portal and come back to finish the last 5% off.

Easy to say, but I am also only 668 iLVL. It’s a catch 22 situation, need good IO to join a good group, cannot get a good IO because I cannot get into a good group.

It’s the very sad situation with IO, players get carried to an M15, list a group asking for 1.5K IO, but they have 200 IO. If I don’t either get carried, find those miracle groups or run premade (which even than does not always work) than the road to a high IO is not an easy one.

Because that’s all players care about is IO, even when you find your fair share of higher IO players who are just terrible, there is nothing else we can use to quickly show in game how good we are.

I’ve even had players who had the perfect IO, all timed runs, high keys, good iLVL, but were just crap. But everyone on these forums are so against any other method you have no choice but to either pay for a carry to get one high key, or get lucky.

And yes, I run with guildies, it means nothing. Just because they are guild does not mean they are good or ready to run higher keys.

push your own key and make your own groups to get your io up. Also remember that just because you do a 10 in one dungeon doesn’t mean you automatically get into 10s on all dungeons. I see that a lot on here where people do a single 10 but only have 4s in every other dungeon and think they should be doing 10s or higher. That’s not how it works. I look at IO but I also look to see
a) if you have timed the specific dungeon within 1-2 of the one that’s being applied to
b) is your overall score pretty close
c) what’s your class/spec
d) is your ilvl pretty close to what drops if it’s lower than what drops

RIO is great to weed out people quick ( i’m not inviting a 700 io person to my 14 or 15 no matter what they have timed or not timed ) but gotta look closer to get a good group going. I got my RIO up by posting my own keys and making my own groups. Most people are too lazy to do that though or get disheartened immediately if it doesn’t go perfect. I’ve timed fewer keys than i’ve completed by a large margin.

It’s early in the M+ cycle and trying to keep up with the jones’ at the top is idiocy. Go at your own pace and learn the dungeons/affixes in a more complete manner rather than just trying to jump way ahead of yourself. It’s a marathon not a sprint and the season just started.

This is an interesting point you make here and I agree with a lot of it. I also fall into this trap a bit myself. I have a pretty low IO, but I don’t use the addon because I hate it. I only level my own keys and I only do a few M+ per week. I’m also a Frost Mage and yea…basically I wouldn’t be invited to pugs as a DPS anyway, even at my near 200 ilvl.

But all of my runs have been successful. All of them finished, all but 3 in time. And I made it up to a +8 this week. I’m also casual-hardcore, which is my new term for not playing with a guild but playing competitively when you do play.

I also don’t like spending hours spamming M+ as I find it hard when people cant communicate well. So I get the point, but IO is not what people think it is. Your post, and my experience bears that out.

Unless I’m misremembering: the balls are not a one shot mechanic?

Yea they hurt. But you can heal through it.
Unlike the death ray.

depends on the key and if it’s tyrannical week. Fortified and lower end keys they won’t one shot you.

It could also be a press my personal damage reduction CD if I’m going to get hit. XD

always an option. I just prefer not to get hit by them.

When I see “WHO HAS TROUBLE WITH THE LAST BOSS OF DOS?”

I see DOS Disk Operating System. I think you mean De Other Side. After having to read a bit and decipher. Typically you define your acronym once to let people know what you mean. DOS(De Other Side) defining your reference. If you google DOS WoW you get a classic wow forum.

Perhaps you should say, I am going to explain this different kind of fight. If you object please everyone say so.

There have been a few times with bad death ray timings I’ve run into them, though that happens a lot less as a goblin. (Happened more when I was still a troll).

Edit: and patently I’m still a zandalorian goblin :stuck_out_tongue:

yea, being a hunter I have lots of movement abilities so no real reason to get hit but not every class/race has those options.

Well he is the GOD of DEATH. Can’t be a pushover.

No they are not, but the tank mechanic hurts healers enough, especially on tyrannical week, that when players start getting hit by the other stuff it’s a wipe.

I was watching earlier, we got to the last boss just out of time, spent the next 40 minutes wiping. Each time a player would get a dot they could avoid I would end up dying because the healer was struggling. We followed the mechanics properly once and made it to the last part with 15% health, got to 11% and people were just panicking getting hit with everything.

I ran DoS with a hunter, by the time we wiped on the first boss he was the next highest in damage taken, not all players have the ability to avoid getting hit, the class has nothing to do with it if you know what to do and what to expect.
