I’d like to see them kind of return to the basics.
- No fancy expansion-wide system like Artifacts/HoA. Just standard loot, upgrade or not an upgrade.
- Professions restored like static gem sockets and not this RNG crap that destroyed JC as a profession.
- Gear procs being the tirtiary stats and Warforge only
Things like that. While I will give the developers credit for trying new things and keeping the game spicy, I think they stopped seeing the forest for the trees.
For example, while most people complain about the HoA/Azerite Armor system, I can see what they were trying to do. They took various bits of feedback on things players did not like Artifact Power in Legion not being shared between specs and Tier Armor Set Bonuses being nerfed, and , the RNG of getting Legion Legendaries yet certain ones were “required”. They then tried to create a single solution to answer them.
On paper it looked great and even sounded great when they were telling us about the system. In practice not so much. And I honestly think that this kind of system is going to be shelved after BfA much like how Garrisons were after WoD.
