In my evolving headcanon, BfA and SL were both a nightmarescape created by N’Zoth to capture, puppet and play with the foremost leaders and adventurers of Azeroth. At the end, we figured it out, killed him, the nightmarescape began to close up, Sylvanas, Vol’jin, Saurfang and anyone else major who died in those expansions stayed behind to use the power left in N’Zoth’s remains to keep it stable enough for the rest of to escape and were lost along with it.
Do not get me started on Anduin.
I agree with this.
But Ysera does not fall into the category as far as I am concerned.
NEVER underestimate the power of the spoiled and self-centered. It will leave you shocked and defenseless!
I have heard and approve of this fan theory… would be so much better for the game but that also makes DF and TWW part of the same. Blizzard wont go for it.
That’s actually after the rogue part, the human heritage quest line. It serves as an epilogue to the rogue quest line. I don’t think it was implied she and Cecilia were anything more than friends working together, but I might have missed it.
Cairne Bloodhoof. I still feel like they did him dirty to kill him off in a book just to prop up Garrosh. And his son has been a woefully inadequate replacement.
Actually I think it was right on character for him… dudes a drealord, not very combat proficient. So when he got captured of course he swapped allegiances and when the time was right, swapped back.
Oh he was awesome, his hatred for the elves was the stuff of legends.
I dont mind killing off great characters but when they leave a hole that doesn’t get filled by follow up characters or the replacements are placeholders that dont get fleshed out, thats what bothers me… right now there is just not enough testosterone in the horde lineup and it becomes really really hard not to believe the redpill brigade on their crazy crack pot theories about blue haired woman ruining the franchise… I know its not true but lets just get some characters in to shut them down. More Hellscreams and Saurfangs in the mix (just action packed, assertive go getters that do not get killed off in 2 seconds), a grown up Durak distancing himself from shamanism and following the path of the warrior… how does Thrall then deal with the worry of him turning out like Garrosh/stay proud of Durak growing to be his own person etc.
I think they kind of reign her in too much. If she was a male character they would let her wreak untold devastation whereas she always gets pulled back so her tirades do not have much consequence or impact, the tidal wave on org post theramore, the purge of the horde from dalaran, the imprisonment in kul tiras, her leaving the kirin tor when the horde were allowed back in… she has been betrayed by the horde so much her character is probably just naive not to be more militant in battle at the first sign of horde shenanigans.
I think Durotans send off in the movie was way better than the actual lore personally. Thats one scene the movie really really did well IMO… more of that please blizzard!!!
Another name that springs to mind is Nathanos… given how terrible SL turned out, they just completely wasted that character and made him a simping attaché to a broken Sylvanas… like he was a character in and of himself that was pretty cool (outside of BFA/SL - champion of the banshee queen)… a love story of him being unable to follow her down her dark path (at some point of no return moment, maybe when she proclaimed “the horde a re nothing”) would of been much better, realising her soul was fractured (since it was the woman he loved afterall… did he love original her or broken her).
Not even that. He just got disenchanted while Sylvanas criticized him for doing the same things she did.
I know they were trying to make it a realization moment for her, where she finally sees the parallels between them, but it just came off as condescending
