Who actually liked Vashjir?

I loved Vashjir

I liked it.

It was buggy. It was a mess. But it was different.

I miss the days when Blizzard made inspired, if risky choices. Now, everything is made to be a risk-adverse as possible… which is one reason why BFA is so bad.

I loved Vashj’ir! I wish they had finished the story line with the battle maiden as she was intended to be part of the raid in the Abyssal Maw. I was hoping they’d maybe toss in a story tidbit about her in Nazjatar but no such luck. :frowning:

Personally, I would have liked Nazjatar much better if it had been more Vashj’ir-like in a design sense. The Shimmering Expanse and Kelp’thar Forest were beautiful even with the buggy swim mechanics.

it was different and different is fun sometimes. I’d prefer full flying zone, with fights on mounts

Granted, by the time I came back to WoW it was after a three-year break and MoP was about to release, so Vash’jr was pretty old news by then. But when I first started back…I hated it. Hated hated hated being there every minute I was there. It was WAY too hard to navigate and be able to tell what you were doing.

Then I got a new computer that wasn’t a potato, and it was a whole new experience. Now that my draw distance wasn’t at the absolute minimum and I was swimming in a gorgeous, detailed underwater world instead of a murky mire of haze, it was great. I definitely would’ve been okay with underwater parts of Nazjatar.

It was ok.

I liked it, I still like it. It was an interesting and gorgeous zone.

I loved it the first time though. A much more interesting zone than Mount Hyjal… but to be honest on every other toon I have leveled I avoid it like the plague. It just seems to take too long to do anything. key locations that are tucked away in a caves you can zip right past without seeing. I haven’t even entered that place since Cata.

I liked it on a druid because seal form swim speed stacked with the zone-wide buff. Being able to kite anything forever was hilarious.

Other classes, meh.

But it WAS flying - flying on a seahorsey then getting dismounted mid-air (mid water) without gravity interfering. Aerial fighting at its finest.

Vash was gorgeous, scary and unique. Enemies coming at you from 360 degrees. Huge expanses of utter silence (I play with no sounds anyway) and vast panoramic views. One of a kind zone, for sure.

I absolutely hated that place. I took my main there got Loremaster for the area and never went back. Leveled another 20+ thru that expac and did not do any more quests there except on my main. I’ll never go back for any reason.

I didn’t like the zone, but I hate it was left unfinished.

When they’re done making expansions for WoW, I hope they make mini-expac patches to add back in the stuff along the way. Like that Vashjir raid, and the stuff they cut from WoD. It would be kinda cool to be able to see it all.

I thoroughly enjoyed it the first time I played through it. It was a bit disappointing to have to leave the zone once the last of the quests was finished. Each time I’ve leveled another character since then I make sure to quest through all three areas, and I wish Nazjatar had been more like it.

The only factor that gives me pause for underwater Nazjatar is how badly spells like blizzard and frozen orb work underwater.

I did. It actually blew me away with how much work and detail they put into it.

Vashjir is a beautiful zone but I hated being underwater. Trying to figure out where the mob was, positioning, was difficult and very tedious after awhile.

I don’t ever go there. It would be the same if we had an all air zone, too.
Positioning was awful.

They did Naz much better. I prefer that more.

I did.

When Cata first dropped it was a PITA on a PVP server… but so was everywhere else.

Long after I went full PvE, and took an alt through the zone, it’s become one of my favorite zones in the game. Gorgeous, and great story.

Shame they never finished it.

I really like it.

Too many crybabies whining stopped it from ever happening again though.

This is why we can’t have nice things.

I despise doing any wow content underwater. It’s like getting dazed except it doesn’t wear off until you get out the water.
