Hard agree.
I’ll never understand why people are paying a monthly subscription just to experience the story. FF14 is basically a single player game with online community hub areas. The combat is somehow worse than WoW’s despite also being tab-target, the raids aren’t as mechanically interesting like WoW’s are, and the PvP scene is basically non-existent. The community is also really weird and cult-like, but so is WoW’s most of the time I guess.
Anyway, point being, FF14 is a great game but a terrible MMO.
