Which slot for legendary? (sub)

To be honest, I am at a loss for which slot to pick. I haven’t seen anything specific about which slot is optimal, so either my google fu sucks (most likely) or there isn’t much talking about it. You guys have any idea about it? thank you in advance!

Check the legendary memory that you want first, then see what slots it can be put on, decide from there. If possible choose the one with the most secondary stats, like helm or shoulders.

A good first legendary that’s viable for all 3 specs is mantle of the master assassin, which is bracers and boots I think.

I think it’s head and chest. Head for the shadowstrike leggy and chest for the finisher leggy.

Shadowstrike leggy is best for single target and finisher is best for cleave/aoe

Or just go chest because the finisher leggy is still 2nd best for single target

Probably going mark of the master assassin first. Extremely strong in PvP if you stack vers/mastery with kyrian+on use trinket nobody lives.

In PvE since you can stealth between packs you can get a free all crit secret technique + shuriken storm + black powder for le aoe.

For ST you get the 4 sec in stealth with all your burst and you can vanish SS before second dance to get another 4s of 100% crit.

I do agree that finality is the best one but can you wait for it? Can you be sure to kill Sire Denathrius on the first week? Is the memory even 100% drop in normal/hc? If you can get finality it’ll probably be the best for PvE indeed.

Finality is second best not first.

Overall It’s the best (cleave, AOE, ST). Akaari pulls ahead in ST only

Sub isn’t a cleave spec.

Sub is a st spec.

Master assassin is ahead of finality in dungeon slice.

Finality is literally second place on everything

Yea but that doesn’t mean sub rogues won’t be doing dungeons, or participating on raid bosses with cleave/AOE lol. Obviously the play is to get multiple legendries depending on the scenario- but if you only had to pick one, Finality looks to be the best one OVERALL across content

Waiting for finality is pretty dumb considering most people will have to wait weeks for it.

Your best bet is to get mantle of the master assassin and then get akaaris.

You don’t magically get cleave abilities because a fight has cleave windows.

… Did anyone say to wait for Finality?

You can cleave using rupture and black powder, two abilities that get a big damage increase with Finality. I never said wait to get it, my point is if you only had to pick one legendary, Finality would be better than Akaari when taking into account different content. Akaari ain’t doing squat for you in cleave/AoE while Finality is. And when it comes to ST, according to your little chart- Akaari pulls ahead by ONLY about .7% lol. Making Finality a great ST option as well.

So again, back to my original point: Finality is great, ALL AROUND

Neither rupture or black powder is a cleave ability.

Rupture is a single target dot that can be applied to multiple targets and black powder is an aoe finisher.

Sub isn’t a cleave spec so stop pretending it is.

Either way your best bet is to make MA first and then Akaris and then finality if you want it. This is of course subject to change due to possible tuning changes.

Again… not paying attention. :joy:

Never said they are cleave abilities, I said you can use them to cleave (e.g keeping rupture up on a secondary target etc.). Assassination is one of the best 2-3 target cleave specs in the game and uses the so called “single target abilities” to help do so (rupture, garrote). Needless to say, in cleave scenario’s, using rupture, and even SS+BP with enough targets is viable for sub- and Finality makes it better

thank you all for posting your information, i appreciate it a lot!

And finality isn’t a sin leggo.

End of the day you’re better off making mark of the assasin first then string what buffs come out on mythic release and going from there.

I know. Never said it was :joy:

I was using Assas as an example of a great cleave spec which uses “single target skills” for that cleave dps.
