They didn’t stop it and watched as the soldiers followed through with orders to burn it - thus, they participated. They are just as guilty.
I don’t remember the cinematic playing out that way.
I remember her standing there, looking crazy as usual, then she turns around and screeches at her stupid boyfriend to burn the tree. It happened in a matter of seconds.
In the grand scheme of things, I don’t really care, but on the same token your version of what happened is not how I remember it going down. Like I said, the quests we were given said “capture the tree” and then there was a “stay awhile and listen” with Saurfang IIRC and he said the same thing.
To be fair, that questline was similar to the Vulpera situation for Alliance I think.
As Alliance you don’t really harm the Vulpera. On the Horde side it is a different picture.
Granted… Teldrassil, darkshore and Ashenvale was worse, but still.
Again, horrible story telling in this game ![]()
Most: Humans, orcs and undead.
Least: Pandaren.
Night Elves ![]()
Dracthyr or Vulpera
Void Elf lore is some of the worst lore to come out of this game. Thankfully Void Elves are easy to forget since they’re so irrelevant, but every time I’m reminded of them I’m like…yikes.

No the Tauren is right the original plan was to kill Malfurion and capture the land which pretty much bordered Orgrimmar and was unsurprisingly considered a priority war target.
What happened was Saurfang chickened out because apparently it wasn’t “honourable” to kill him after leading the whole attack sending in rouges to Assassinate Soldiers in a surprise attack and bunch of other actually dishonourable actions sparing Malfurions life.
Then some dying Night Elf decided it would be a good idea to have a go at Sylvanas with that cringe you can’t kill hope line and out of nowhere ordered Nathanos to burn down the tree.
So they’re not really complicit in the tree as that was just out of nowhere and there wasn’t much they could do but they were complicit in aiding in the War Crimes of Mr Honour Saurfang.

I thought the Jailer planned all this and Sylvanas was just sending souls to the Maw…
Nothing earlier mattered. Was all a dream
Almost every problem in WoW can be laid at the feet of the night elves.

Who’s this Jailer fella ![]()
Darkshore isn’t at the border of Org though… No offence, but as a Horde player myself I felt pretty bad having to destroy Ashenvale, darkshore and well… unfortunately thanks to Ms Evil Sue Teldrassil, too.
I remember that one crazy blood elf, who was all excited about killing night elves in Astranaar. sigh… I hate bfa^^
majority populce is most evil, and which is most good?
orcs for most evil. You can only try to take over the world so many times and blame it on your leader before you start looking like the badguy.
as for most good, that gets complicated.
are we counting draenei as a separate race form eredar? because if so, probably them.
Night elves are a good contender, but again are we counting their offshots? because they did kinda blow up the planet.
Tauren have been relatively harmless, but they also haven’t done any great acts of good either, so it seems a bit disingenuous to say they’re “the most good”, they’ve just done the least harm.
humans are humans, equal parts good and bad
I’m gonna go back to my original answer of draenei.
Almost every problem in WoW can be laid at the feet of the night elves.
Yuh pretty much like everything that they’re going through right now is just long overdue Karma ![]()

That doesn’t change the fact however, that void elves were banished by their own kin and joined a faction with which they personally never had beef with.
The facts are that their original aim was to help Silvermoon, and when that all went very wrong, their banishment was for Silvermoon’s protection. Banishment isn’t a death sentence, just a means to remove them as a potentially disruptive group.
Void Elves were Blood Elves, who’ve not only had a “'beef” with the Alliance since the Burning Crusade, they’ve been staunch enemies.
The answer changes depending on how you want to define “most sins”.
If you measure the absolute number of sins then trolls will have the most sins simply because they have been around the longest. Conversely void elves will have the least sins because they haven’t had much time to commit them and have a very small population doing the sinning.
However, if you add a modifier to account for magnitude of sins then the night elves take the crown for most sins as they have been around for a very long time and were responsible for the sundering.
Since the absolute number of sins approach is heavily influenced by both population size and the length of time a race has existed it might be more reflective of a race’s morality to use a normalised approach and use number of sins per person per year.
Under this approach it is the goblins that would be the most sinful race with the sheer number of petty sins their culture runs on. The races with the least sins per person per year would likely be the draenei or pandaren by virtue of never actually doing anything.
Once again adding a modifier to account for magnitude of sins shifts the winner of the most sinful title but to the forsaken this time. Because this is apparently a contest and they are determined to win it.
Humans because they are real
I don’t think anything holds a candle to Risen Human bodies possessed by Orc Souls.
Haven’t you placed one of those in a Infinite Death Loop?
Do it again, the relic of Death and Rebirth may only be useful for one Charge but it allows even the most evil of souls to experience the Sympathy of others, I’ve made some small tweaks by tethering his Soul to Warsong Gulch; where he could experience being slain in a unfair match.
He did prey on the weak, as a consequence, he’s likely still being reborn as a helpless caster to be gank by Rogues in every single Battleground for the rest of Eternity.

You know what they say. “Snitches get stitches and Teron Gorefiend was the Ultimate Snitch.” I have to admit Your Black Airforce Energy is starting to Rival my own.
Just going with playable races.
Most: Night Elves or Draenei.
Least: Tauren probly.
