Which Legendary to Craft First for Arcane?

what the hell is arcane harmony? are you guys talking about arcane infinity?

Memory of the Infinite Arcane is the item that drops from Manastorm.

Arcane Harmony is the name of the legendary item effect.

To OP: I went Temporal Warp first because I wanted to maximize my effectiveness in raids. If you’re running raids without a single other person that can give a bloodlust effect, find a new raid. I have Arcane Harmony but will probably save materials for Bombardment as I think that will be more effective in M+.

Agreed on raids, but only if you cast TW on pull. That’s not always the case, especially in progression.

Disagree on M+. It has value for sure, and can be useful for very difficult boss fights in a run if you run a comp around it (run with another mage, shaman, or hunter), but Bombardment/Harmony will outperform it overall.

Even on Tyrannical weeks? Is there data for this?

Yeah, I am in the same boat will probably make bombardment next. Like I said you’re probably going to want to have them both at some point anyway for when they increase the wearable lego cap for the insane synergy.

P.S. I said finding some else to lust in a raid “shouldn’t be an issue” but I wanted to play devil’s advocate because, while unlikely, I can picture a raid that only has mages with Temporal Warp legos and no pally or shaman, lol.:joy:

I explicitly mention very difficult boss fights as an exception (so you sacrifice overall throughput for boss dps), but you need another TW effect.

I think people don’t talk about it because it’s not really a viable option for anyone except the Mage. Your group is likely only running one lust class, so if you’re blowing your load every 5 mins they’re going to hate you, mostly because lust is saved for very specific times and if it’s not up you can bust the run for the others. There are better M+ legendaries.

Yup. Even with it stacking (do you really even want 70% haste?) it’s going to be a bit rough on bosses with hard execute phases where you save lust for them, especially since if you use it after the 1st lust you’re probably not going to line it up with your other CDs.

That said, it will still be a strong legendary especially if you’re looking to craft it early on while you wait for the others to drop. Personally I’ll probably go for Harmony first up because it’s easy to farm and I have no idea when the Torg wings will open to farm Temp/Bombardment.

That’s what she said? No but really, that’s exactly right and there are much better ones for M+.

Btw, Temporal Warp is available right now from one of the wings that is up this week and Bombardment should be available next week assuming Skoldus Hall and the final wing are up then (it would make sense for the rotation to work like that).

Is that really the case though?

If you blow Time Warp every 5 minutes won’t that put everyone else’s bloodlust on cooldown? You’ll have it for every boss, but the rest of the raid won’t.

My guess is in a raid or even Mythic+ setting it’s only useful for raid boss fights where Bloodlust is called to be used early in the fight. That way your taking advantage of the legendary won’t rune the cooldown for everyone else.

Is it? The guides are saying it’s a chance drop from Upper Reaches, Skoldus and Soulforge. I hope it’s not a drop from Mort, because I really cbf doing that place again.

I am really excited for Arcane Bombardment. It’s already satisfying to throw out a 4 stack barrage in an aoe situation (with Resonance), I can only imagine how nice it’s going to feel when things get in execute range in m+.

Well I know I got it, not sure from which wing though. I am also pretty sure that the legendary memories that drop from Torghast wings have a pretty high drop rate, if not 100%, because I’ve gotten all of them so far on the first go (of course they only drop from layer 3+ end bosses). Should be the same with world bosses and other long term rotational events for obvious reasons.

Wowhead says Temporal Warp is from Upper Reaches and Bombardment is Skoldus Halls. I don’t think any legendary has multiple drop sources.

I think Skoldus Halls and Coldheart Interstita are up starting tomorrow, so theoretically Temporal Warp will be back up in two weeks and Bombardment available for the first time tomorrow.

Drop rates are definitely near 100% because this character got two memories on the first layer3 clear. Probablility of that happening if the drop rates aren’t near 100 is pretty low.

Anyway OT I really want Bombardment because I thought the azerite power was snazzy but my mage is only 56 and the odds of getting her leveled and geared enough to get it in a week are…not great.

It feels awesome! The difference between Harmony and Bombardment is only 25% (105% for the former and 130% for the latter) so I’ve kind of experienced it already to an extend. :joy:

Now if we get to wear BOTH legos together at some point down the road… :exploding_head:

That’d be living the dream. With the bombardment one being available this/next week I might just save my mats for that, not that harmony is bad. Not like my casual guild will be pushing difficulty content the first few weeks so I’m not overly fussed (though I would like to rub it in the two MM’s faces, because sod hunters).

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for that! Also hoping more are introduced down the road. Something with clear casting increased chance would be my dream.

Yes, please! We desperately need more. Arcane legendaries are all depressingly boring and uninspired. Something with an actual visual would be amazing (gimme the Arcane Orb lego from Legion). I’ve only been focusing on my mage so far but I have alts of just about every class and that seems to be a running theme. Most of them just feel like they could be a passive talent. Not exactly what legendaries should be, imo.

Im really really excited about Arcane Bombardment legendary, Temporal Warp, and Sephuz’ Proclamation.

Arcane Bombardment
For M+, the Arcane Bombardment legendary is going to be incredible, I cant wait to get my hands on it for my Kyrian AoE Death Combo. I feel that Harmony, although similar, is inconvenient to build the damage bonus on Arcane barrage for back to back AoE pulls in M+.
Arcane Bombardment will be available for every pack and can be used multiple times per pack since mobs will be dying at different rates (minions vs lieutenants). Although minor, I also personally dislike Harmony because it forces an abrupt change in your rotation (forcing you to cast Arcane Barrage at 15 stacks) at some random point in your burn/conserve phase if you are not micromanaging it carefully.

Temporal Warp
Im surprised by the amount of skepticism in this thread about the effectiveness of this legendary. This legendary was super strong in Legion, like SUPER strong, and it will be SUPER strong in Shadowlands too. This legendary was basically mandatory in 80% of situations in Legion just because of how strong it is. In legion I was regularly forming my M+ group composition with an extra lust so that I would be able to get in 2-3 Timewarps per Dungeon. As Arcane, being able to have the extra Time Warp burst windows is insane. Imagine having a personal lust on the biggest baddest trash pull on fortified, or popping your own personal time Warp and just going ham on that 3rd dungeon boss who is a pain and needs to die quickly but nobody has bloodlust. Likely, this legendary will be used on any raid boss that will live for 3min40s after bloodlust is used the first time.

Sephuz’ Proclamation
If there were more resources available to make legendaries, I would make this legendary to see what it is like. Sephuz (after buff) was also one of the best m+ legendaries because of its on-demand haste. In legion it would grant 25% haste for 10 seconds, but in shadowlands it now grants 80 of each secondary stat (which is still incredible, essentially like equipping two additional max ilvl rings). You can gain this effect as Arcane before each AoE burst or miniburst by using Frost Nova, Counterspell, or Spellsteal (or Dragon’s Breath for fire). Its easiest just to do: Rune of Power -> Frost Nova -> Burst for big damage. Also very powerful on raid bosses with waves of adds. I remember trivializing boss add mechanics (Guldan’s eyeballs, Mistress Sasszine adds from Tomb of Sargeras) by watching for the add timers and setting up a fat Rune of Power -> Frost Nova -> Burst as the adds spawn and just deleting them. Definitely keeping my eye on this legendary for my wishlist!

With Temporal Warp now a mage-wide legendary, Arcane needs a replacement.

…cough… Legion shoulders …cough…

I went with Arcane Harmony since it lets me use barrage more than just with magi and the warp one only looks good if you run with premades all the time and always have 1 other person with that buff or else it -to me is useless-
