I know, without following set guides, WoD is the “fastest”, but i honestly dont enjoy most of the zones in that expansion.
Wrath is great for the nostalgia, but it does take so. damn. long. And it makes me glad the zones aren’t that massive anymore.
I still enjoy Mists because it was my least played expansion, and ive really only experienced the leveling there like, once?
BFA is nice because it does feel the most streamlined. Doesn’t waste a lot of your time.

WoD and Mists probably are the most full experiences for leveling, BFA isn’t bad either for that.

Time wise it does, it’s been proven I think by speed runners.
For me though, I don’t have any that I ‘enjoyed’ leveling in. I do have a least favorite but ultimately I shake it up depending on what I want. I feel chromie time really sucks the life out of the feeling of said world.
Mop for it’s scenery for the most part, music etc…
Cata because it just feels expansive.
WoD to finish up the level grind if I want.
BFA has nice places and the feel of boralus is always cool, I like that old english, sea shanty town vibe.
I leveled so much in Legion that it’s just not for me.
Wotlk I only dig Grizzly hills.
and so on…

I leveled through Legion and BFA on this character, and enjoyed everything the area had to offer. There was a wide variety of things to do, and I stayed busy. I especially liked visions and warfronts, and I liked the zone designs and world quests.
On my alt I just got to 60, I went into Outland at level 10, and then to Northrend at level 40. You level so fast now. I done 3 of the Outland zones and 2 of the Northrend zones, and by then I was level 48 and went on into Shadowlands. It was nice seeing that content again. I haven’t quested in Outland in 10+ years.

I enjoyed Leveling in MoP. It was a big change in scenery and coming from Cata expansion which didn’t have a continent to explore only helped it . Seeing Sha of anger ,Galeon the first time was awesome. All of us leveling in that zone decide to group up to kill it. The serpent mount also was kinda unique back then as well .

I meant wate time like in WoD that intro quest takes almost an hour and im so tired of it, or setting up the garrison. Shadowlands will fit this bill once it goes evergreen. Having to do the helm of domination scenario and maw intro would ensure i wont be doing that for a long time.

I’ve just been sticking to good old EK and Kalimdor for questing to level. Why not full heirlooms and an xp draught gets me like 12 levels for a zone’s worth of quests.
Oh for sure, if it wasn’t for WoD’s intro giving a handful of levels rather easily I’d skip that all together. Though I do like getting the garrison up and running but less and less things are profitable anymore there so not worth my time if only to just have a nice area to escape to.
wrath by far… those ice zones were so amazing

I enjoy Legion s mostly because of each different class campaign adding lore.

I feel like leveling through expansions in one thing that Blizzard gets right consistently. They only expansion that I have issues with in leveling was Cataclysm. The amount of party breaking phasing, cutscenes, and rails detracted from that experience.
Wrath was probably my favorite leveling story though. If you played the RTS games you were just waiting to get to Arthas.

Having just leveled a character through TBC on retail, it is weird that a lot of quests in Netherstorm and Shadowmoon Valley are still listed as “Group quests” even though nearly all group quests in the other zones were scaled down to being soloable. The Ring of Blood in Nagrand being the only exception. I think it is the same for many group quests in Icecrown as well. It is like blizzard didn’t expect people to level up through the zones anymore. Weirdly enough, I think the group quests in Ghostlands are still scaled for groups. Gotta love blizzards inconsistencies.

I like most old expansions. You don’t have to pretend that they will get better before the next one is released.
So said I was? I don’t think you read my post since you replied from it.
Actually enjoying BFA content with the level revamp on my gnome mage. But Alliance BFA zones are pretty great, aesthetically.
You can level in Visions and Warfronts? I know you can in Islands never thought about others.
For me now I think the best leveling is in BFA then Legion. Maybe Wrath after that then Catas EK and Kalimdor. I like how in the BFA leveling you skip Magni and the SW thing for horde. Just get straight into it. Makes sense more I play it. You can get that stuff at lv45 isnt it?
No. I liked your post. I am fine with levelling through any of the old expansions. They are being left alone and I know what to expect. I criticize lots of posters and make fun of myself (seriously that’s a big nose), but I wasn’t making a jab at you.
