Sorry to burst your bubble but, it’s looking increasingly likely that she’ll be returning for midnight.
In fact, I’d genuinely be surprised if she didn’t
Sylvanas is like one of those “break glass in case of emergency” type characters, and a lot of people still have love for her despite how the previous narrative team tried to destroy her.
Well maybe putting it like this would better explain, how much of a need is there for an Alchemist or Cook class, if we already have it as a profession? Ijs “ Tinker” is already represented in game with engineering. We need to ask the Dev Team to expound upon the Goblin/Gnomish engineering OG ideal for the Mechs, toys, Vehicles, weapons and pets we want to see. Alot of the engineering stuff should be brought back and certain devices should scale with your level. We also need better toys and mounts that do cool stuff like scale walls, land on a ceiling, or lets you “ride” a ceiling upside down and up the side of a wall. Also free up the “mechanical mobs” in game for Hunters to tame already, ijs there is an abyssmal low amount of available mechanical pets to tame vs other pet families. Imo we dont need a Tinker class so much as we need a major revamp to the Engineerimg profession. I know we just got a bunch of engineering cosmetics thrown at us in UM but it was very GOBLIN themed. Sorry lol Blizzard is the one that brought the gnome/goblin engineering rivalry in the picture from the beginning. It cant be abandonded over a off branch gob-gnome romance or a goblin rogue working for S1:7. They actually should expand on the gnomes in story (retake Gnomer, Mecha or both) and use it to revamp Engineering in WoW
I want bards already though. We need a class for the WoW musicians & city hub attention getters already lol Every wow race can represent a particular instrument -but can choose others kind of like hunters do with their pets. Tauren definetly would start with Drums The Forsaken can “discover” electric guitars from a joint goblin experiment gone “wrong” lol. Pandaren would be “Guqin”. Worgen would be violins, Dwarves bagpipes, Trolls flutes etc
I mean, fair but also, most of these are things they have been requested before and are continuing to be requested, especially tinker and bard.
Blizzard will end up adding more classes to the game eventually. It’s not if, it’s when. Tinker or bard are probably both pretty high on that list. The concept of a “white mage” aka holy ranged DPS is one that people were even trying to get working as far back as Vanilla.
It’s not like WoW is a stranger to taking ideas from other MMOs and implementing them in their own Blizzard way.
I don’t want to say anything because of spoilers, but we will be seeing her fairly soon in some way. But it’s still up in the air how involved she’ll be.
If dev interviews have anything to say about it, then it looks like she’ll be a major character.
While I think expanding engineering would be cool, it wouldn’t really scratch the itch that a lot of people requesting “Tinkers” have.
People are more wanting a class that uses mechs/turrets and other gadgets for DPS and or tanking, as well as using science for healing. While engineering can provide some of that, it can’t provide all of it due to the fact that professions have to have some semblance of balance. They could only be like smaller, more temporary effects.
We’ve seen examples of this in the past. Back in BFA in the Mekkatorque fight, we saw him use a mech suit. In fact, it’s actually a mount you can get. So the concept of mechs are not new.
“Doc” Cogspin was meant to be more of a traditional doctor, using medicine and science for healing. That’s what gnome priests were always meant to be, but ofc nothing like that happened due to never having class skins or anything like that.
We’ve also had many uses of turret or turret like contraptions throughout WoWs story. I can vividly remember Keeshawn yelling every 3 seconds while gunning down orcs during the conclusion of the Redridge questline.
None of that is going to change your class fantasy into something else. Any current class that takes engineering, regardless of how extensive the engineering profession was made, would not have their core class fantasy or gameplay be changed to that of an engineering themed class. It would just be some other class cosplaying as a Tinker.
Yeah if Blizzard actually want to commit to supports then there needs to be other options. Which in midnight, it looks like they are committing more towards Aug’s support nature, so they do still care about the idea.
Supports wouldn’t be so bad if the only option wasn’t Twink dragon with no Transmog.
Disagree, how are you cosplaying when we have a profession that you “tinker” ? The very thing you want a class for? Again Tinkers are represented by the Engineering profession that needs to be seriously expanded and updated aa well as all other assets ingame associated to it
Because an arcane mage with the engineering profession is still an arcane mage shooting purple magic 99% of the time, not a Tinker that does Tinker things. I’m not sure what you are confused about here.
I think bard as a full class is a bit off for this universe, but how it’s not a profession yet is beyond me. We have instruments, proximity sound and the animations.
Think of the buffs you could get from certain songs, especially if different racial songs gave unique effects - playing kaldorei songs, orc or human tunes) and collecting different instruments like ocarinas, fiddles and guitars.
Thats because of the scaling back of the Engineering profession they did years ago because ppl were complaining about the advantages in pvp it gave you. Invisiblity and attack & speed boosts? Parachutes You could socket other armor slots too? Regardless of class? And actually use them? Allot of that stuff gave HUGE soloability and could turn the tables in a PVP fight quick before they nerfed it lol
