Which Classes do you want most?

The only way I could accept melee hunter is if it was a dragoon type class that jumps in and out of range. Otherwise it’s just inferior to any actual melee focused class

Not sure I’d build a whole class around it, but a light focused DPS caster would be nice. With the narrative going headlong down the whoe The Light is Just Like Every Other Cosmic Force rout, well. Then it’s just magic. And it can be a mage spec.

It could also be a priest spec, I guess.

The current ones but fun again. Talent trees that actually let you choose builds instead of artificial builds with forced paths and forced talents. Hero classes shouldn’t be tied to specific talents in the talent tree and if they insist on the ability it should be moved to the hero class tree.

Current talent trees are the worst i have ever seen

I have seen a “Bard” class tied to the world song suggested other places.

Would really love a spellblade type class, arcane magic in melee
-1hand/shield cloth tank spec, defensive ability using portals to deflect attacks elsewhere
-1hand/empty hand fencing style spec, passive gives double stats from your single one hander. Some sort of combo style rotation
-Polearm lancer style spec, jump and slam polearm into the ground for an explosion of arcane damage would be a cool ability

I would also like some sort of light based caster spec, loa magic caster, possibly a blood based caster or necromancer type caster (these two I think are unlikely due to DK)

If I had to go for a new class I’d go bard with a whole set of instrumental weapons ( so we can finally have guitars, flutes and drums animations in-game). Or a Lancer, we already have a lot of spear-like weapons but no character uses them as intended (they are either used as a piñata bat or back decoration).

But I rather have more diverse specs than just dps-heal-tank. I miss truly authentic support specs, kinda like how Shaman and Discipline wanted to be where direct numbers are not your main playstyle but one who can manipulate the playground; in raids/dungeons to help with faster pace or assist with new/bad players to reduce mistake impact, in open world use the world to their advantage (mind control, terrain use, etc). The opposite to a solo class.

Survival Hunter, Mech mount, engineering profession

Checks all the boxes

I’d love to see a blood healer. Sacrifice your health to heal others, and your attacks leech life from the enemies.

1st edit

To elaborate this could be a 4th deathknight spec. Plate and 2h wep, scales with int.

2nd edit

Most of your attacks would function like the hold to cast attacks that Evokers use. With a few direct cast abilities.

Blood barrier, harden you blood on target to reduce dmg by 5% (single target)

Sanguine mist, frontal cone hold to cast: mist area in healing blood or dmg to targets. (Dmg and healing dependent on target)

Blood bolt: launch a glob of blood at target to heal or dmg. (Single target)

Blood quake: send your blood through the earth to target location ( circle like DnD) erupting in blood spikes that deals x dmg, then y dmg over 15 seconds.

Shotgun+Blood healer was the best on TSW :dracthyr_heart:

Bard, one day… one day we will have them.

Heal spec, support, dps mid range

I was actually thinking of something similar but for Warlocks: drain enemy health to fill your resource, then spend that resource to heal. Like Moira in OW. Could be blood or soul-themed.

I want Witch Doctor!

I’d love to be a chronomancer mage healer without having to be a lizard-elf.

When I think of this especially in a shaman I think of Avatar and blood bending.

I know you are probably talking more of Haitian/Creole witch doctor though.

I definitely am talking about something inspired by Haitian Vodou and New Orleans Voodoo.

something with turrets akin to the engineer in GW2. or, and this will sound crazy, put more totem back into the shammy.

Necromancer and an expansion based around the undead. Completely dark themed - based out of duskwood and bring back the DARK LADY.

After Shadow Lands I would prefer Sylvanas did not come back.

I think right now I just want Blizzard to perfect what we have on offer. Class design feedback in midnight beta has been mixed to trending negative, and not just based on pruning. But also rotations and the need to still track a lot of things.

That being said, eventually I’m sure they will add more classes because that’s just what they do. Some of the stuff I’d personally love to see:

  1. Some sort of Holy DPS. Honestly this could just be a spec for priest. It’d be nice to be a caster but still be light, unlike shadow. A lot of people have expressed interest in a priest that leans more into smite, holy fire and some other new abilities.
  2. Tinker. If and when they do finally add another class, it’s probably going to be some sort of tinker class. We do have engineering and we do have some explosives mixed in with current classes, but we really don’t have anything that just scratches that “itch.” The concept of Tinkers have existed in WoW lore forever. Not to mention Tinker could be a tank, healer and DPS/Support class, as all three (I guess technically 4 with support) have been stuff we’ve seen in lore.
  3. Bard. I know a lot of people have requested a class like this before. It looks like Midnight is poised to once again make Aug more support like with their raid wide ebon might. So it sounds like Blizzard does still want to do support. A bard could fit that. Issue is, idk if there’s any existing lore that could fit a bard, or if that’d just be entirely new.
  4. Astrologian. I know we have balance druid who are pretty “Astro-y” with their star falls and burning people with sun/moon and their eclipses, but I’d love a class with a more focus on things like tarot and scrolls, etc. I could never get into FF14 but if I did, I’d be an Astrologian. An issue is, again, I don’t know if the existing lore could fit an Astrologian.
  5. Some sort of “Titan powered” class would be interesting. Again, could heal, DPS/support or tank. But right now it seems like the lore is pointing us more towards “titans bad” so not sure if this could make any sense.

WoW already covers a good variety of fantasy and adding some specs to existing classes, or having “class skins” could definitely help fill in more gaps. But right now, I want the class team to focus on refining what we have and making it better.

I can’t say that I can get behind any of these ideas. We don’t need FF14 in WoW.
