I play for a little while and I can’t decide which class I should play. I usually play alone, I do immersions and world missions, I look for achievements and try to do the end game that way. However, I can’t choose a class that stays alive at more self-immersion levels. I’m currently trying with DK blood, but I don’t know if it’s the best choice, some tell me it can be a paladin, others that it can be a Druid, even a rogue. But I don’t know for sure. Can you help me?
Demo warlock or beast mastery hunter.
Ive tried a few classes in immersions but paladin was the best FOR ME.
U have to try out specs and decide for urself wich gameplay u perform better without loosing the flavor.
As for world content, mostly world quests, a simple dps is the best, paladin, bm hunter and warriors are the best choices, once u’re geared u wont have the patience to ramp um resources to kill mobs u could hit kill with those classes.
As for the main questline choose the class u have the most flavour.
I’m a long time immersive exploratory ‘headcanon’ solo player since Vanilla, rarely group, never raid.
I’ve been mainly BM Hunter all along, wonderfully immersive and survivable. Great to be out in the wilds with your trusty beast companion who has your back. Hard to recommend right now because they recently did a real hatchet job on it and it’s less than satisfying. Try it, but it’s a shadow of what it once was.
I also play Demo Warlock, quite good surviveabilty, again you have a companion to keep stuff off you, but a rather slower pace of play in my opinion, squishier and relies on ramping up your demons, casting feels slow.
I have found Ret Paladin to be absolutely amazing for sword swishing fun and survivability. I miss my pet but hey there are cool critters for flavour. (I use Pistachio the flying squirrel)
Also been having a load of fun with Windwalker Monk. A little short on healing and defensives but doing pretty good. Fantastic mobility.
Only other I play is Feral Druid in cat form, OK if you dont mind a lot of form switching to heal and adapt to situations and it fits your headcanon.
Right now I would recommend Ret. Paladin the most for functional gameplay, it’s lively, dynamic and cuts through stuff like butter with plenty of heals too. Just try stuff out and see how it feels! All these classes have a different sort of inbuilt ‘character-fantasy’ about them of course which may or may not be a factor for you ![]()
If you’re a more casual, mostly solo player, I recommend Death Knight or Paladin most strongly. Both have pretty good self-healing while in their DPS roles, and both have tank roles with extremely good self sustain.
Until Blizzard fixes Eternal Flame, our self-healing is a joke.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Fury Warrior has better self-healing in combat than us right now.
?
Healing hands says hello?
Our self healing is fine regardless of Eternal Flame, I don’t even know why you would bring it up, that’s a Herald issue only.
Sure it’s lame but for solo content casual purposes? Our self-healing is pretty good.
Eeeee I don’t know.
If I go by numbers, I have almost 130k HP and Eternal Flame is 6.4k with a HoT of 1.2k.
We have one less shield.
Flash of Light is no longer instant.
We have more self-healing than other classes, yes. But we’re not as well off as we were before.
Nobody is, wdym?
They did that to everyone, they reduced the number/potency of defensive power everyone had.
Only they fused ours, SoV and Divine Protection are now cast as 1.
The Flash of light “instant” talent was coupled with another talent that was played much more at large in the “cheat death” emergency WoG and instant Flash of Light also meant you couldn’t spam it because it gave it a 6 sec CD.
Beside, WoG scaling went up, it used to be 346% of Spell power and now is 415%.
It’s doubled depending on missing health with healing hand
The only thing weird is that Eternal flame makes it sort of worse on others* (378% + 106% over 16sec) because the “increase” is on a 16sec HoT which makes it tick for barely any healing.
But on self, Eternal flame is boosted by 25% which means the initial is at 472% instead of 415% and again can be doubled depending on missing health with healing hands.
OP is talking about solo play, the self-heal is fine.
The only downside it gets relatively to what it was in TWW is that a bigger portion of our damage comes from spenders, so it’s a bigger trade off in damage to heal than it used to.
According to the comment here, EF isn’t affected by Healing Hands.
But I didn’t have the chance to test it.
Without commenting on the post of this person itself.
Sure, it’s a bug and it blows, but that’s not intended.
Yah, please fix, but also that bug ain’t gonna prevent people from playing in the first 2 weeks of Midnight nor is it preventing anything now really.
So as far as leveling and being casual about end game, we still have great self-heal for the content OP is aiming at and besides, he’s probably better served with Templar anyway because the fight won’t last long enough for Herald mechanics to do anything.
Comes down to flavor for him of course.
