Title says most of it.
I have a 60 mage on a server with friends from home.
I am trying to roll a 60 on a different server to play with friends from my past.
Which class do you think is the most rewarding?
PvE, PvP, leveling, mobility, defensives, offensive power, stealth, etc can and should play a role.
(I personally find that mage is the most rewarding due to slows, blink, defensives, ice barrier, ice block, and offensive ability in PvP AND PvE, so we should talk about other classes besides the mage.)
I prefer to main a priest because I like playing a support class. Most classes are good utility to bring to a group. Except a hunter and a rogue. Those are probably on the lower end of the totem pole for rewarding group play, and the personality of most players that roll those 2 classes, show that.
Every single time I had a BRD run fall apart after arena/anger was because a rogue/hunter did not get the item they wanted, and had no intention of finishing the run and just used to group to get to the loot pinata, or they get to their quest objective and bail after they get it done.
Druid ! Jack of all trades Very strong leveler and you can do pretty much what you want at lvl 60. Very easy to gear too.
For example, I dont need anything from MC now as a resto druid so Im starting to get my feral set. So during raid I heal, then I respec after the raid to be a tank just to have some fun doing 5 man dungeons as a tank instead of a healer. I get my gold from reserving first orb in Strath Live as a tank.
Sometime ill respec as balance/resto to be more dps oriented in 5man dungeons and pvp.
You really never get bored! You can try a billion spec and have fun trying different build. Very rewarding to be able to assume multiple roles and be good at it
I’m afraid I’m not 60 yet, but I am 53. The reason a warrior is gonna be my main class is because I crave being the guy who hits the hardest. Useful in pvp & pve ;o
Hunter by far, the skill floor isnt bad but the skill cap is higher.
Farming Mara, and solo trib runs are challenging fun and once you get to down really rewarding. Not just in gold, but you 100% feel reallly accomplished as you begin to master it.
Rhok’delar is the greatest quest line of all time in my opinion. I was attempting mine during phase two and it was a horrible. In between all the death squads though, there is an unspoken bond between horde and Alliance hunters doing this quest. Were all polite take turns, cheer at others success and weep with them when they fail.
If you want a class that’s rewarding thematic, and just all around fun. Hunter my dude.
I would say scepter of the shifting sands is the greatest. But as far as a weapon quest, it is. Really puts the hunter utility to to use on all 4 demons.
I’m partial to the priest quest myself. Kind of cool to do a quest where only you and other priests can see what is happening. Not super challenging but can be if you don’t manage your resources correctly. Kind of felt weird after finishing it, knowing that after I created benediciton I would never be able to see it again.
I think you’ll find the rogue the best beside the mage. You have so many cool-downs and options, especially for pvp. sap, blind, kick, vanish, stun lock, sprint. You can burst with cold blood and reset cool-downs with prep. Yes, at 60 i think rogues might not be the top in this patch. But pre 60 which is a ton of time i think they are the best
This is a fair point. Jack of all trades does seem appealing. My concerns come down to pvp. I love the idea of a pvp healer that can escape and survive but I’m concerned with no dispels and squishiness in caster form.
I also have heard negative things about feral and balance for damage in pvp regardless of the talents. Otherwise Druid I think fits really well with me. Along with a rogue.
IF this were actual vanilla and the game engine ran as good as actual Vanilla or hell even a private server…
Please consider this list with some caution, this is not how things play out at a basic level but only once you start to push the limits of what these classes are capable of and their capabilities in a team oriented game play. This list only reflects the upper limits of a class, not its entry level, some classes are strong regardless of the player; example shadow priest is really strong even if the player is terrible, but the class is so limited that there really is not much room to improve performance of the build with vastly superior skill because of the barbarically simplistic nature of certain builds or their limitations imposed by flaws in that talent tree such as protection paladin.
This list is not a reflection of the damage output of a class or the healing output of a class or how good the class is on average, but how rewarding the class is only when played by extremely capable players, and as mentioned above is based on actual vanilla servers that worked properly or private servers that still operate properly in PVP
Warlock bruh you get free lvl 40mount which means you get to keep all your leveling gold. And epic mount will cost you 400-570g. Plus its very powerful if played right. Easy to lvl with. Great in pvp… great with wpvp while youre leveing. And you can farm mara at 60 for 35-100 gold per hour
Rogue is not exactly tough to play at a low level, but the skill cap of that class is truly ridiculous. Mage is more or less the caster version of a rogue, though it’s a little more powerful at the base level and easier to play at the base level.
Druid is also insanely complex at the top end, but unlike the rogue and mage you’re going to be in for a real learning curve, the druid as a class depends on you using all it’s forms and making the most of its mobility and full kit. Example a balance druid in PVP should not only be in boomy form (if spec’d), but also be utilizing cat form / bear form abilities in addition. There is so much a druid can do in PVP that it’s actually kinda ridiculous how OP they really are when the player is good.
Thing is tho, most druid players are crap so they’re going to totally reject these points because they’re not even capable of 1/3rd of the class’s potential.
