Where is the PvP Set?

I disagree. It works in retail because it sucks playing multiple forms of content as there is 2 million forms of content that all take ages to farm. Classic does not have this. Its relatively easy to get into any form of content in classic and farm it out.

We quite clearly need an actual PvP set with stamina and armor values that are proportionate to the damage being doled out.

Blizzard’s most recent interview with Dexerto straight up said “we know PvP is bursty right now and that’s intended”

So no, they’re not going to add any pvp gear to Phase 2.

Maybe they’ll change their minds with Phase 3 though, I don’t know.

Hey, do you mind linking? Extra information is always good to know!

Pvp isn’t popular enough to spend development resources to give you a pvp blue set.

Ease of access isn’t a problem in any form end game content in any form of WoW. It only looks daunting from the outside looking in.

Ease of access isn’t the problem. Raiding in WoW takes a deep understanding of how your class reacts to the mechanics of a raid. PvP in WoW takes a deep understanding of how your class reacts to other classes’ abilities. These two things require drastic changes in how you play your class.

When we lock BiS between one or the other, we have people who will just “go through the motions” of doing the content to get the reward. In my PvP, I don’t like tourists that are just passing through. I want my people to be there to win because they like the competitive nature of PvP, not someone just winging it to get the reward. The same goes for my raids.

Dedicated gear gives us that.

This is the part of the article I’m referencing:

Season of Discovery’s bursty PvP isn’t going to change drastically

The new powers on offer to players in Season of Discovery have led to significant damage output for a lot of classes. In PvP, this can mean anecdotal situations in which the traditionally “squishier” classes in the game get one-shot.

Though this can be a bruising experience, it can be mitigated with certain builds. Greenfield was keen to stress the effect that the staggered leveling system has on this while also confirming that it is something the development team is actively looking at.

“Things like that are something that we’re always looking at. We knew it would be pretty bursty, especially since we’re in a little bit of a weird spot right now because your gear selection while leveling is a little bit more narrow than it is at max level.”

“Max level in original WoW is very bursty, too. If you’re a fresh 60 mage going into a battleground, it’s very easy to get one shot by a Mortal Strike Warrior or something, right? These PvP events may have a lot of different types of players participating in them. There are players who are diehard PvPers, and they’re gearing properly. They’re taking the steps needed to ensure success.

“Then there’s Joe Blow who’s like ‘I’ll check this thing out.’ Then it’s like, ‘Oh, I’m getting blasted.’ So I think the main lesson we have from this is, with this player power increase, we definitely want to offer more options for gear in future phases that help you be able to survive a little longer.”

Equally it is important to remember that Season of Discovery is not a typical MMO. The phased leveling experience moves quickly, and there are certainly practicalities involved in addressing issues quickly. Valletta described how this process works behind the scenes.

“We’re oftentimes aware of a great many things going on in Season of Discovery, and we care about all of them. Because of our team size, we’re trying to responsibly prioritize and action things that are the highest impact, highest value things at the time. We do have to make decisions on what can wait a little while and what should we action now, right? So we’re often aware, and we care very much, I promise.”

Lol why are all you pvpers trying to recreate a system that already failed. Stop advocating for wasting dev resources on garbage pvp gear.

LOL in retail maybe, in classic most classes have a 3 or less button rotation. And even if you mess this up you will clear it.

I have something that might be upsetting to you. Classic does not have rank play my man. Its for casuals.

I do. I think if people are serious enough to be full bis they should have to play everything which gives more participation in everything.

Current PvP is failing miserably. A ton of people are opting out because of the one-shot meta.

Current pvp system is a 20 year old system that FAILED ALREADY (assuming you mean sod). No need to recreate it to fail again. Especially at low level phases that do not matter due to generic unavoidable character imbalance phase to phase. This screaming forum desire to ultra-balance all phases for pve and pvp make no sense when pvp is so wildly unpopular as to have already failed on the classic client. Spend those resources elsewhere, I’d rather not wallow in regurgitated bad pvp design.

By all accounts you’ll get pvp gear at 60.

All of the whining about PvP on these forums is that damage is too high and every class can 1shot you.

There’s more to the SoD raids than just pressing buttons.

BiS gear can be locked behind BG renown, and STV PvP grinding.

Considering your limited experience with raid mechanics and the intricacies of gear and renown in PvP, it’s surprising that you’re so engaged in this debate. Could it be that your concern stems from the possibility that if casual players were to leave the PvP environment, the average skill level of the remaining players would rise, potentially making it more challenging for you to distinguish yourself?

SoD raids are easier then LFR in retail lol.
There really isnt.

?? You know my profile is public to check right? I have multiple cutting edges and few glads. Checking your profile I see you do not. So its funny being lecture about skill.

So your take is that people should be forced to play content they don’t like to be BiS? Frat-boy take if I’ve ever seen one.

And isn’t this a clear indicator that you want the generic skill level reduced for YOUR sake? I mean you tried to project it onto the other commentor, but the logic doesn’t work quite right lol.

I typically like to judge people by the content of their ideas and less by their recorded accomplishments. Accounts and achievements are bought and sold all the time. :man_shrugging:

It might be expected that someone with your level of accomplishment would have a broad understanding of the PvP gear options in SoD, as well as the raid mechanics in Gnomeregan and Blackfathom.

But here we are, “just pressing buttons”

You’re just speaking out of your @ss, PvP is the only reason Classic is a thing.
