Where is the Latino Culture at in WoW?

I’m operating under the assumption that what OP is talking about is having an ingame cultural surrogate. Like how Pandas are Chinese. Tauren are Native American. Etc.

Well Draenei are kinda a trifecta of Slavic, Indian, and Jewish mixed all into one with some extraterrestrial mixed in :alien:

There’s toy that drops from heroic Durnholde Keep that lets you wear a sombrero.

Latino mostly means from Latin America in the hispanic coumminty but it could also be someone who spoke Latin in older history which ya know the Roman Empire made everyone speak latin and vulgar latin eventually made other languages like Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Galacian, Romanian etc

Someone has never read up on Mayan and Aztec culture, it seems.

I agree, still representation though  But since we are in this “where is my race” world I don’t think representation will be enough, it’s going to become a ‘I want as much as they have’ thing eventually.

Knowing rappers I don’t know if that’s entirely true

Well, Blizz shouldn’t have opened the can of worms by adding more race options. Don’t blame players for asking “where are we?” when Blizz is adding others.

Is this to imply that you know 100% of everything about your culture? That’s a pretty strong claim to make. Do you think it’s within the realm of possibility that someone from the north knows something about your culture that you don’t know? Unless you have a Spencer Reid brain I think it’s possible.

Of course not. But at the very least I know that a son of an italian american and an irish american is as far as someone could be from a latino as they could be.

well he is from a latin and americano, root. so he’s a latino. i dunno how he could not be. hes not from a spanish and americano root, a hispanic. although spanish language has a latin root, the word latin dervies from italy and refers to the language of the italians *well romans, to be exact, which was distributed around the world by the holy roman empire - part of which was spain. this is why spanish and italian are so close, linguistically, as spanish language has a latin base. like counting to ten in spanish is very close to counting to ten in italian.

Asking the real question here

Jesus Marimba…to quote the Joker

I don’t, honestly, know how some of this winds up making sense to you but no. No. Really no. Oh hell no.

Latino

noun

La·ti·no | \ lə-ˈtē-(ˌ)nō \

plural Latinos

Definition of Latino

1 : a native or inhabitant of Latin America

2 : a person of Latin American origin living in the U.S.

NOT someone whose ancestors originated somewhere they once spoke Latin…

oh i know that murga.
i am saying because he is of latin origin, and they do speak latin in italy since its their mother tongue, its more precise to say he’s a latino than to say he’s a hispanic. since his ancestors were latin, not spanish. he’s technically, latino, and more directly, since his dad was italian. whereas if you speak spanish you speak a form of latin, but not latin itself. i am not commenting on the cultural title of latino but the literal origin of the word.

so what is a guy who’s ancestors are italian, speaks italian, which is to say, speaks latin, who is born and lives in the americas? no jokes. haha. if he’s not latino, which is derived from the combining of americano and latin, then what the heck is he?

Goblins are based on Latino’s, no?

He’s Italian-American, Italian, American…many things that are not from Latin America. Italian isn’t Latin, it’s descended from Latin…as are French, Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, and Romanian. Would you call a Romanian a Latino?

well i agree with the direction you’re going with this but not the preciseness of it, since latin is the language base of italy. it started there. its the foundation for all latin languages. it all started in italy. i dunno why a spanish descendant of the americas is considered latin but an americano guy who’s ancestors came from ground zero latin, italy, is not haha

life is confusing

Latin was originally spoken in the area around Rome, known as Latium. Through the power of the Roman Republic, it became the dominant language in Italy, and subsequently throughout the western Roman Empire. Latin has contributed many words to the English language. In particular, Latin (and Ancient Greek) roots are used in English descriptions of theology, the sciences, medicine, and law.

It wasn’t Italy then.

I…um no, on second thought never mind…

doesnt seem fair to italian americans that they aren’t considered latin americanos, et.al, latinos, when their italian ancestors were the first latins.

anyway, i think john travolta is a latin americano.

By that ‘logic’, any and all Native Americans are actually Asian-American.
And your character(and mine, for that matter) are really Trolls?
Many ales needed.
