The Zandalari remind one an awful lot of the Aztecs to me. One pop culture reference does not a complete port make. Rastakhan was Montezuma in a lot of ways. Lots of gold, tricked by some bad advisors, invited some people who dredged up to his empire… and later winds up getting killed later due to said individuals presence.
You’ll find that WoW races tend to draw inspiration from many races, and that Blizzard is not defined by demands of people who time and again cite a need for them to bend to their personal brand of “political correctness”.
These people also in their hubris usually demand that X or Y MUST become a reality, ‘or else!’. (Or else what I ask? They’ll quit? I can only hope they do so. Blizzard and the other players will be happier as a collective without such foolishness abounding I wager.).
Blizzard is wise to disregard these demands because it would constrain their creative license. Moreover Blizzard does not need to prove their inclusive nature. Their Developers know their brand, and can judge themselves based off what their hearts tells them. They have no one they need explain themselves to. Not me. Not the OP. No one.
I am very thankful that it does not factor in any single individual’s meaningless opinion, or allow itself to be ruled by a mob mentality. That is not how you ever want to develop video games. By my estimates folks ought to be glad for what they have and stop trying to make ludicrous claims IMHO.
TLDR:
When Blizzard wants to reference to Latino Culture, Blizzard will do so; and not a day before.
