Neither are undead… so…
thank you! if you had the citation for what you claimed you would have given it by now and everybody knows it!
i love when helfers try to claim that of the high elves that didnt rename ALL just left for no reason. some were exiled true, but some is not all and nothing says there are no ‘high elves’ that chose to remain
This refers to the blood spilled in the Third War.
that was the grand magistrix speaking to vereesa and her people
Why wouldn’t they rename, though?
You mean that Lordareon Knight that represents the now Forsaken?
its never really explained. theres literally no reason for any elf on azeroth to not just accept it
its possible there were that many in outland, MAYBE possible with jainas elves who fled the continent after arthas. but its just speculation on our part
Weird.
That’s where I got Jenny’s number.
Are you telling me she’s a Blood Elf?!?
I’m interested in Laneshs story, he’s been around since MOP when Blood Elves still had green eyes as the default, prior to blue eyes returning, devs have said it wasn’t a glitch and he does have a story we just haven’t seen it.
He looks like he’s in Ragged Scryer clothing suggesting he was on Outland but BEs from Outland still had green eyes, which could mean he’s an Outland High Elf that linked up the Scryers / eventually returning to Quel’thalas and his people. It could have implications for others from the Outland group which story wise I’d like elaborated on.
And also Mag generally refers to the population of Quel’thalas as a whole as High Elves since Blood Elves are High Elves so that may be where your disconnect is coming from in your convo
yea but blizzard wrote the line in
Okay, my thought on the high elf/blood elf/what elf? debate is (and I covered this a little bit earlier so I’m gonna snag some verbatim from an earlier reply to this thread)
Blood elves are phenotypically and 95% culturally identical to high elves. It would be more accurate to use Thalassian elf as an interchangeable term (which would include Void Elves/Ren’dorei, which some would agree with and others would hate). But saying Blood elves and High elves are the same is correct with a big asterisk.
The remaining high elves had an ideological reason to not adopt the Blood Elf name. And not adhering to the status quo then = an unfun time, so they then physically relocated. Most high elves we see are either 100% neutral, alliance, or the majority which seem to be associated with Dalaran.
High elves, blood elves, void elves are all thalassian elves. They only differ in ideology and magic (or whatever else) consumption. They’re factions (not the big Horde/Ally) but actual political factions, one of which hold the seat of power and thus more legitimacy in the eyes of most (still contested, though I don’t see many high elves rallying to get QT back, numbers and all). If political legitimacy dictates which of the 3 is real , Blood elves are real.
So the majority of the thalassian elves, who were called High Elves, became Blood Elves.
A blood elf being called a high elf is mostly a heritage/ancestral thing, whereas calling themselves Blood elves represents a new chapter. For God’s sake, there’s only like 20 years between now and the invasion/renaming event. It’s kinda like a less extreme version of calling someone from Lordaeron Arathi, or IRL I guess the closest I can thunk up is calling a Zimbabwean Rhodesian. You can, but it’s odd.
Literally quoted it for you, cited, referenced, everything. Particular reason you keep ignoring it?
WHOAH WHOAH WHOAH…
I am NOT nor ever have I been pro or anti Helf/Belf crap. I absolutely 100000% DESPISE all of that crap. I came in here to give factual information. Don’t you dare put that BS on me. EVER.
The High Elves that remained in Silvermoon renamed themselves to Blood Elves.
What is wrong with you?
No, don’t answer that. I’m using the ignore feature now, so that I’m not tempted to even respond to you again.
It still makes no sense. Those that wanted to keep the NAME of High Elf, because they didn’t agree with Kael’s ways, went scattering to different places. Those that took on the Belf name stayed in Silvermoon. I don’t understand why that’s so difficult.
I also don’t understand how the hell I got called a Helfer. Like what the hell?!
I’ve literally never heard this. Like, once.
Well you see OP…
There’s the flimsy lore justification for the name, which is a one liner from Kael’thas.
And there’s the real world reason for the name, which is that they’re supposed to be total edgelords obsessed with revenge to the point of self-harm, and it’s evident if you actually play WC3 instead of reading about it on a Wiki.
“In honor of the blood that was shed throughout this kingdom, in honor of the sacrifices of our brothers and sisters, our parents, and our children…”
— Kael’thas Sunstrider proclaims the rise of the blood elves[4]
I’m sorry, but how much Karl Marx have you read?
Trolling is when internet person disagree with me
Wrong. Trolling is when someone blatantly uses nonsense to get a rise out of someone. Which is what he did. Maybe don’t get involved with a conversation if you’re not going to comprehend it.
I suppose people saying you’re wrong is enough to get a rise out of you so I guess it fits for you! My bad I was mistaken
