Where did this hatred for self healing come from

No one “hates” self healing, but hen you do more than a dedicated heeler, something is wrong.

It is not accurate to assert that every class in World of Warcraft is limited to button mashing. The Rogue class, for instance, demands a certain level of proficiency and skill. However, simply playing as a Tank in Ashran, benefiting from the Frontline Fortitude buff, and indiscriminately mashing buttons in the middle of the road could be considered an uninspired playstyle. Nevertheless, it is your prerogative to play the way that you see fit.

Anyway, I hope to cross paths with you in another battleground soon. Winning as the Horde all the time can be quite monotonous and lack excitement.

The alternative to blood is spamming outbreak and using abom in their group and that is a very boring playstyle.

It may be worth considering exploring other classes that demand a higher level of skill and mastery, rather than simply relying on a singular class to play. After all, leveling in Dragonflight is a relatively straightforward process and gearing up for PvP can be accomplished relatively easily. It might be worth considering branching out and giving some other classes a try.

That is how teamwork goes, both in games designed around them, and in real life. What you described isn’t a negative or accident no one thought about, its a feature of the game. Best way to deal with it? Help the person, give them advice, and help them be better. When I started healing all the way back in BC I had no idea what the 5sr was until someone explained it to me, and it made me better able to heal. Likewise after healing a bunch I had warrior tanks I had to explain marking and target priority to because they saw a paladin AoE and thought they could do it to.

Everyone has to learn, and tying your success to their success is a pretty big incentive for someone to not be a jackass when someone else is struggling.

Where did this hatred for self healing come from

The same place that causes folks to forget to put their interrupts on their action bar.

100% agree. It’s what I was thinking about when I said.

I’d probably prefer that everyone have self-healing, and we phase healers out entirely (from BGs), but that’s not a fully developed thought… just a sort of sense that so many games go down the toilet because of healer imbalance (one side getting more healers), bad healers, badly geared healers and so on.

Having dps be able to heal themselves helps greatly in making the role of a healer easier.

Its not like healers are having it better by dps not being able to assist in keeping themselves alive if anything it just added more weight on the healers cause they are now 100% responsible to deal with 100% of incoming damage

I always thought that DPS specs should not have any healing buttons, just mitigation CDs.

So when you get focused you press your wall , CC or movement abilities to get away and hope a healer sees you.

buttons to stop/mitigate/get away from damage but nothing to get your HP up.

On the flip side i dont think healers should DPS xD

Guy playing a class historically known for over the top self heals wonders why others don’t like it. More news at 10 folks.

Also a class known for its complete inability to move and kite and largely for its lack of cc.

That was always the trade off but now you traded your self healing for??? idk im drawing blanks.

It was more they just took your self healing and traded you nothing in return for it

LOL. DK can kite, can move and has a host of CC/interrupt options.

After a target gets away after you death grip you are kind of out of options other than to just run at them while slowed

Do you have chains of ice bound? And if you are concerned with getting kited go with two charges of advance and grip. Also, you have some passive snare protection.

You have to give up a lot of other things and also take death and decay talents on unholy  to get to the 2 grips

Too much self healing lessens the importance of healers and unless the self healing is distributed equally, imbalances classes.

Not all classes need as much self healing as others as I’ve said many times before classes like mages and hunters don’t need as much self healing as say a dk or paladin cause the dk and pally are in melee taking more damage and not being mobile while the mage bad hunter are far away taking far less damage while being able to kite and be mobile. And all self heals do is make the role of a healer less stressful

Lol havent played a Hunter or Mage, eh? Melee is very much more mobile. Melees mobility makes up for their lack of range.

Except most dps self heals are instants. You can’t stop them from healing. I know, I know, I say this as a feral druid but my heals are rather weak compared to most other dps specs at the moment and require sacrificing DPS to do.
