The attitude that healers should dps is why I quit healing after doing it from vanilla to start of BFA.
Of course I used my damage spells during low heal times, but the expectation and even judging healer dps pushed me towards playing dps. If I have to deal with my dps being judged, I might as well play a dps where I’m not expected to do someone else’s role as well.
Healer dps spells were so we could do world content without changing spec. Not because we were all hybrid heal/dps. There were a few specs for that role if people wanted it.
