The only way to snag one at a decent price, is to watch the restock alerts, and pray to god you are one of the lucky few to actually grab one.
My kid bought one for $800 cause he’s impatient.
I have no plans to buy one anymore. Sony really dropped the ball hard on this one.

No where. Do what I did, get tired of trying to find one, and buy a new pc instead.

I think I saw somewhere even into 2022 PS5s are going to be hard to get which is ridiculous. I’m getting to the point I don’t even want to bother trying to get it. I refuse to pay a marked up price from someone and encourage the scalping market to continue. Scalpers ruined the next gen systems just like they ruined the sneaker market.
There were some up on Best Buy’s site. You have to catch stuff early.
There is a profile on Twitter named Wario64 that posts when they are available and where.
PS4 was the biggest boondoggle for me, I spent about a grand on it plus games and didn’t find anything I liked except ironically FF14 which was totally better on PC.
So, I won’t be interested in PS5. I am officially a PC gamer, sure I came up on the 8 and 16 bit Nintendo but there’s little I can even legitimately play on a modern console. I’m not very good at first person 3D games because I can’t perceive depth perception in my monitor. If I’d started playing FPSs when I was 10 maybe I’d have had a chance, only reason I can play this 3D game is that the computer lets me angle the camera precisely where I need it to be.
I am so much more at home with sprite based games still, I went through a pretty thorough emulation phase so 99% of what I wanted from that era is been there done that.
Because gpu’s are everywhere

Yeah it’s definitely the wrong time for a new pc. Bitcoin farmers ruined that.
If you know anyone that’s in the Army the the PX always has them (for 384$)
If you’re buying a PC then yes actually GPUs are easier to get your hands on. It’s trying to buy just the GPU that has been difficult.

I got mine with the help of Matt Swider on twitter. I don’t user twitter for much, other than following news type things… but Matt Swider is a pretty fantastic guy. He posts every day about restocks, has tips for getting them, etc… Right when a store drops a new stock, he posts about it. Very impressive!
I ended up getting mine by following him, and turning on notifications for every tweet he makes. I had to shell out a little extra and buy a bundle (it costs the same as buying each thing in the bundle individually), as those are less desirable by scalpers. He has a lot of tips for how to navigate the different websites and such too.
I just looked at his twitter, and it looks like he’s still going. I got mine a while back, so I turned off the notifications. But looks like he’s still on it!
Free PS5’s are part of POTUS 46’s $1.9 trillion stimulus plan.
Unless you follow that one dude on twitter, it’ll probably be over a year before you see things settle down with it. All I can recommend besides following that one twitter user is just don’t give in to a scalper.
