Where are the Aspects (and dragonflights) in TWW?

It’s also very explicitly referred to in the Shadow & Fury trailer, when Thrall’s trying to reach out to the elements and fails. This is why I’d assumed he still can’t connect to them, cuz it’s recent.

They did return. You sure you’re reading it correctly? What is the passage?

That’s a terrible trailer. He literally uses the elements in the emerald dream and in various raids after he escaped that tower thing, you know the one. The one in the maw, the terrible one that the name alludes me right now.

He also helps the Earthen commune with the storm birds and the elemental powers with them.

He also teaches/guides Lufsela on how to commune with the Stormrooks and befriend the elemental birds, instead of forcing them to work with the earthen like they done in the past

Edit: Damn it, you beat me to it as I was typing this response :dracthyr_nod:

I dunno what to tell you. Unless he lost 'em again off-screen, the trailer suggests “someone missed the memo” again with a prominent orc one way or the other.

But for some fun context: Although Legion’s Shaman order hall is where we first learn about Thrall’s Elemental Disfunction, before that he creates an earth bridge on the Broken Shore for Horde players.

I’m trying to find the specific video and timestamp with the Thrall Aggro conversation, and all I can find is people complaining that it establishes Thrall is still suffering from Shaman ED.

Since nobyd else wants to bother listening to this whole thing, I suppose it falls upon Your Story Forum Warchief, Alynsa Go’Hell.

Lol it seems the person who made the trailer did forget that we had two raids of him using the elements and him using it to help the dragons.

Tor’ghast, that was the stupid tower. He got his powers back in tor’ghast and bounding with his mother and her going “stop blaming yourself”.

I get what Bigfel is saying though. Sure Heartland and the trailer may say he lost his powers, But the game quite clearly shows us that since SL, that he’s been wielding the elements just fine

It’s the classic case of blizz saying one thing and showing the opposite

I can understand struggling at certain points, which is just shaman lore 101, but losing them I just don’t see it.

Yeah, and sadly struggling is a common issue with shamans here and there. Hence the main reason the orcs switched to fel all those moons ago. Vastly more likely to gain your powers without a fuss.

Also why I made goblin shamans. They kinda “force” the powers out.

Which makes sense. We know Azeroths elementals are tempermental and prone to going Nope. You’re not wielding any earth skills today. Where Draenors elementals were chill and basically You can call on us anytime, but the moment you abuse it, you’re done

K, so there’s literally no reason for me to find the specific quote because Thrall did spells in-game.

Uhg.

Yeah, he was a big part of the final Sylvanas fight with Jaina. They both make bridges, Jaina out of ice and thrall out of earth

Then in the first ones raid, dude is throwing lavas and chain lightning everywhere. In the emerald dream, he enhances his axe with frost when he threw it. That’s about it so far

Don’t you just love when blizz contradicts themselves within their own expansion? They can’t even properly communicate on whether Thrall is depressed or not because the game devs keep showing him flinging shaman spells like a pro

“I suppose I have no reason to worry,” he said, and to his surprise he found the compliment sticking just a little in his throat.

Aggra’s command of the elements was indeed masterful, and he was… he cleared his throat. At this, Aggra smiled.

“They will come back to you, am’osh.”

No, like, I get that he did that. Just like I get that on the Broken Shore in the Legion intro he’s using his elemental magic, right before establishing he couldn’t do that because sometimes the game mechanics don’t match the story.

So I’m just gonna let all of it go, because I guess we’ll have to wait and see if game mechanics trump novellas and trailers.

Yeah, don’t even think he’s depressed. More like he doesn’t know where he stands in the horde anymore. The horde evolved past what he made it to be, and he is like that one dude who beat the game asking “what now”.

I guess that means masterful using of it. It seems he can use it but just struggled with it still.

Like pushing out a turd that doesn’t want to get it. Dude needs his fiber

I mean, there’s a reason most people trust what they actually SEE a character doing, as opposed to what a game company says X character is supposed to be doing

Blizz: thralls depressed and can’t use his shaman spells

Also Blizz: Has thrall throw shaman spells around like it’s no big deal

No. Aggra’s use was masterful. Thrall was proud and jealous of her. Her saying “they will return” means The Elements will return to him some day.

I’m take it the masterful part is what he wants to come back. He already can use the elements, just seems the call to them isn’t consistent because blizzard doesn’t know what to do with thrall

Really though, Thrall’s Elemental dysfunciton is back soley so that Metzen can give him a big ole cutscene in TLT when his powers come back so he can do some big showy thing and save everyone. Book it.
