People pretty consistently complained about “collect X bear butt” quests being boring on the forums, so I would assume it’s a response to that. I never particularly minded them, they stack well with other quests which made it easy to grab a whole stack of quests at a hub and then just quest for the next 30-60m without 5 microhubs and a bunch of momentum killers interspersed between.
