While drinking my coffee and eating breakfast before work i managed to:
Do all korthia dailies and several rares/events
Kill Maw World Boss
Kill Bastion World Boss
Do maldraxis Arena WQ
Do venthyr Assault.
Complete the Maw Weekly, whatever its called
Collect 20 souls
Collect the 1000 Anima
Complete a calling.
All in the span of a little over an hour. After work ill do 2 torghast runs, which will take less than an hour, and all my “chores” for the week outside of any callings i choose to do, will be done.
So everything i need to do this week ive done in maybe 2 hours of play, max. Not sure where all these chores people complain about are.
“TiMe PlAyEd MeTrIcS! DeVs DoN’t ReSpEcT yOuR tImE!!!” scream the masses of people from a game that requires you to grind through 100s of hours until the game gets good; or just head on over to the cash shop to buy a skip for it all!
Lolololol. Been playing since the beginning. World quests are a fresh of breath air.
Wanna know why? I knock out the emissary and only emissary caches.
You’re not gonna catch me flying around knocking out every world quest. Waste of time to me. And time is precious.
I thank blizz for making this expansion with my time considered into it.
If you wanna play a game where you obviously want to no life it. Go on classic.
WoD had no world quests. Legion first introduced it.
BREATH OF FRESH AIR BOYO! I dont want to meet the madman who will fly to every and any world quest daily just for rep. That’s just crazy. Make some friends and go knock out the raid / dungeons or if your feeling fiesty get into the arena.
Done arguing because what you can’t counter my point of how much time we save with this expansion over the last two? I can actually enjoy other games? This game doesnt feel like a chore to me now? I can actually play an alt? I DONT HAVE TO NO LIFE TO ENJOY THIS GAME!!!
Wrong. That’s not a chore. Logging in every day and having the mindset “oh man i gotta do ALL these world quests for every faction rep” is a chore.
I log in and do end game content with my boyos. Before they come on Ill go knock out the cache easily in 10 mins and que up for something fun.
I dont know what your idea of fun is … but “grinding” a dungeon over and over or staying in a set location and killing mobs over and over is not my idea of fun.
Also … What the OP said is factual. I can do what he did in the span of an hour an a half.
If yall cant … then thats a you problem.
No, WoD had them. In a far more primitive form, but it had em. Remember the table that offered that crappy apexis crystal quest? That was a world quest. Legion expanded on the idea.
Now, all you do is dailies in a zone you’ll forget about next patch. Its such a damn waste.
Literally not one thing on that list is fun, rewarding or interesting to do on any level
That’s where we’re at now, thats how much design has gone into the chaff before the meat or social aspects. The amount of design gone solely to waste your time, effort and energy is nuts.
The funny thing is I’m here, on MMOs, because I like grinding and treadmill mechanics. There’s a wrong way to do everything though, and Blizzard has it down pat.
You’re grasping for straws. You talk to an NPC and can choose 1 of 2 “world quests” in your garrison. You go out to the zone and complete it. Then you have to go back to your garrison to turn it in.
Yea boyo that’s a daily quest whether you wanna admit it or not. No “primitive form” world quest man come on.
See a druid posting…take something squishy with less than stellar self heal.
Jsut takes a few good hits to wipe a rogue. So…if its slower you see a rare you wait for a more proper crew to setup. 2,5,10 minutes.
I personally like 3+ tanks on melee dps. Between 3 tanks taunting you worry less about aggro shift. One of them is gonna pick up the aggro and there is your rogue or dh not seeing health bar zapped.
Also like comedy the key is…timing. I’ve had dream runs of rare to rare to rare to rare. Fleshwing buildup while consumption stacks up it nice. Damn near right next to each each other.
Drop the fly, drop the now big green guy. then if really lucky soulscream is up to. 3 rares in minutes flat if enough rare hunters out.
Now one day some nice kyrian folks fired up popo. And there is boss 4, still close by.
Then you get the runs were its not so lucky. Any kyrian to talk nice to popo? No…
Or nit wits are dropping baby consumption. Let them kill it and watch youtube till the next spawn.
This content is still far too new to be chore-like, as you say you start doing dailies then get side tracked by several objectives and events that pop up (a chest, a nest/mushroom, a rare, a mob with research on it, a new thing or secret that you didnt know about before etc)… i.e little breaks to the mundane “chore-like” aspect of the dailies that bring you back into the game to make decisions and reassess priorities.
In fact right now I would say Korthia is probably the best daily content blizzard has done… possibly ever. It has that same feel of the timeless isle (the only thing it lacks is a world boss or bosses)… and this is despite the fact that thematically I hate the story content of wow right now, despite that in my eyes they knocked 9.1 out of the park, Bravo Devs.
We need a teleport to the raid entrance/world boss, having to run through the beastwarrens is just annoying and adds nothing but frustration (with little payoff for that frustration).
I hate the 20 souls quest, it should have stayed at 5… such an arbitrary pain to run around looting them once you have no use for them other than the reknown+1. If the soul currency had a use that I needed to think about what I would spend them on I probably wouldn’t mind as much (like if I could trade them for item bags or other bags of currency) or if I actually cared about upgraded my covenant (though its soo badly designed I really don’t want them to force me to care about upgrading now).
I think the fact that you have optimised them to the extent you completed them in 2 hours just to get them out of the way or in your words did “everything I need to do this week”, proves how chore like the nature of them is. A chore is something that has little enjoyment in the doing of the task but the value lies in the task being done.
