So you say half the priest healers suddenly don’t enjoy healing?
Respec is 1g, if you can’t be bothered to spend 2mins and 1g, if something is easy to do and no one is doing it. Perhaps ask yourself why.

Never going to heal randoms outside of a GDKP
I think I said it before and I will say it again. Stop looking for exclusively priest healers and suddenly the world is your oyster. It really is beyond crazy how quickly groups tend to fill once they accept that they don’t need a priest if the group is competent.
What?! You’re expecting the legions of noobs on this forum and in game to actually do runs without needing priests to carry them? Have you seen how bad most of you are?
Healing is really rough right now. Every class kills us in two or three seconds, even with the HP buff. It’s just harder to do anything in the game. I get about 60% of the coins in the STV event as DPS classes.
This has been hinted at, but to beat a dead horse:
You can heal all the dungeon and pvp content in this game as shadow/balance/ret/elemental/fire(mage)
The only people going 31 points into a healing tree are doing that to heal gnomer. They are that invested in healing gnomer (usually) because they have a guild run they are a part of.
This. There were more priest healers than all the other healers combined when phase 2 began. SP became sexy and stole all your healers.
Nerf SP and maybe you will get your healers back. Also nerf hunter again just because.
Shadow is FOTM now
So much this, I also I felt very under appreciated leveling in dungeons. Tanks would just keep moving pack to pack without letting me get mana, not be able to hold aggro and have mobs running around hitting every group member that I’m starving for mana.
I can’t tell you how many ungrateful players there are towards healers. Mostly Rogue players like the one Rogue after I said to the tank do smaller pulls because he was getting smashed not even speced in prot and the Rogue says pull more.
And why? They’re a hybrid that can play a strong shadow priest. Why should they be the best healers on top of being the best casters? They’re entitled to no more than paladins, druids and shamans who each are capable of playing a healer or a DPS.
This is a severely underinformed statement. There are more Mages in top 1,000 healer rankings than shaman.
Haven’t you ever heard of an emotional support animal?
idk, I think too much confounding for this, prob way more mages with healing runes doing Gnomer than Resto Sham, idk if I’ve even seen a resto shaman anywhere. And are you talking HPS or total healing? Healing in general is a crap stat to track. especially considering need for conserving mana early phase Gnomer. Logs are too hyped, ppl will do a bazillion things that inflate their individual numbers but sacrifice overall raid performance…you’ll have entire raids running with the priority of boosting one individual’s parse.
But yeah to overall point here, where are the healers lol
You have to do a minimum percentage of healing in a fight for WCL to consider you Regen VS Arcane, and there are substantially more Resto shaman logs than there are Regen mages. Because of this, we can surmise that more Mages in top 1000 despite lower representation can only be caused by better performance as a class.
PVP is too dogspit for anyone to even think about being a healer.
Why would you be a healer when every class is100-oing people in 2 gcds.
sod is trash
I put my main (Disc Priest) down because of the current state of things and started playing my Hunter.
I’m a Support player at heart, but the current PvP ‘one shot meta’ going on is just heinous. Also, I’d rather not spam Scarlet Monastery 500 times.
Man I really want to argue this is wrong but damn if after decades of raiding is it always feeling this way. Granted this is why over those decades we priod healer last in loot for what we would say was “progression reasons”. But in reality I have never seen a role quit after they got bis more than a healer. It’s just a boring role. You trying to do mythic plus keys, bgs, maybe some arena/world pvp, or STV event. Whelp sorry generally the healers aren’t online because it ain’t Tuesday or Thursday. I mean hell all of our healers immediately log to their dps alts after the raid is done and you’d be a damn fool to ask if they wanted to heal outside of raid. They also, this phase , all want the purple caster dagger plus OH that only the casters dps need because they want more spellpower overall
For when they want to dps.
I’m a Disc Priest.
The honest answer is we quit or respecc’d, especially on PvP Servers.
Healing had no farmability - We have very little capability to farm/quest for gold - unless we respec.
PvP is Cancer at the moment - DPS 1-2 shotting through Penance and Shields as an example.
Dungeons are great - until we have all the gear we need… We can get BoEs but we compete for those with all the DPS who can farm on their own.
Most Healers who Raid frequently have a group of Friends or Guild they run with.
GDKP Ban has very little to do with it – Besides you weren’t likely to see many GDKPs at the beginning of the Phase because the guilds that run them are still gearing as well.
TL:DR - Playing a Healer is Unrewarding, Incredibly Non-Profitable, and Toxic on PvP servers due to Balancing – Why heal when you can 1-shot a healer instead?
As a healer main I can tell you P2 has several issues that all happened at once.
Due to the rune system dps and faux tanks want to make huge pulls and go, go, go. This is fun for every role but heals. Many guildies refuse to heal pugs and certain guild members for this very reason.
Many players that healed in P1 were just waiting for their specs to come online in P2, spriests, boomies and ele shaman.
The current state of mechanics in pvp (arcane mages, spriests, rogue et al) make it difficult to be effective as a healer and the typical toxic mentality of dps makes the effort just not worth it.
Many dps players refuse to get their bis and learn fights prior to stepping into Gnomer and have the mindset of “just heal through it”.
Questing, although easier with the rune system, is much harder for a healer than any other role.
Priests are head and shoulders above all other healing specs in terms of output and fun. Shaman/paladin’s specifically must put in twice as much work to heal, while priests have a mana effective aoe and direct heals.
These are just the issues off the top of my head. As a healer there is zero chance I’ll heal any pug group, dungeon or raid. I will help guildies out in dungeons for bis/leveling but only if its a full guild run. The current mentality of all the retail/wrath kiddos wanting to go, go, go is probably the biggest deterrent healers be willing to play in pug groups.
This as well – This is very real.
