When you FIRST started WoW

I needed to restore health, so I ate in combat. I died. I didn’t understand how to restore health in combat, then potions eventually started dropping.

Oh, I’m pretty sure I have you all beat.

I was a “ranged warrior”. As in I prioritised my ranged weapon slot (in Vanilla) over melee attacks. It only happened in a single Ragefire Chasm run where a nice veteran player put me back on the right path, but for a brief, shining moment I was in “WTF?” territory.

I was a human priest who got killed right on the chapel . Level 1 characters were red at the time during Vanilla .

When I first started wow it took me about 30 mins to do a simple quest.

I didn’t really take the time to read up on stats and what they did, so I went off what my older sibling said and prioritized gear “upgrades” based on item text color. I wound up keeping blue pieces of gear that were inferior to later greens SOLELY because of the color on the text -_-

Hitting murloc on a quest and it ran away. Just to see it brings a crapload of them!

Got ganked by “boss” level(they will see grey color level ganking lowbies) Horde at Ashenvale while leveling.

A bit of a double for me:

  • i leveled my first toon all the way to 60 doing maybe less than 10 dungeon runs and only a few dozen quests. The rest of my xp was just killing things.
  • I did not know I could lock the abilities on my action bar and could not figure out why they kept disappearing (click on one and accidentally drag it off w/o realizing it).

I talked to a npc thinking it was another player

I grouped with people to take down Hogger, and one of them was considerably higher level than the rest of us. She said she did it because she needed greens for her enchanting. I offered her some herbs I had just picked. “They’re green.”

She laughed and explained what she meant by “greens”.

i did’nt understand how armor worked, and did’nt wear everything i was being given by quest givers.
like, if it was pants, i could compare it to what i was wearing with shift, but if was something like say, bracers. i’d compare it with what i had on, which would show nothing (cause i did’nt start with bracers), and would’nt equip it…

and of course, there’s the fact i was still wearing leather on my hunter at 45… took a while before i realized i could wear mail at that point…

Played a Blood Elf.

Was brought into the game by friends, all of them played blood elves.
Played one with them. Still don’t understand how they are the most popular race in the game.

I went on for a while on my cloth (jedi) robed warrior… there was no transmog and I really liked this reddish robe… reddish… more like pinkish, I guess? Closest I could find to Auron’s (ffX) robe…

… another player finally stopped me: “You’re a warrior. Why are you wearing cloth robes?”

I just /sly and didn’t say anything… I THOUGHT I WAS SO COOL… emo and angsty… I think I had just lost a duel to him and was still acting cool :sunglasses:

He made a weird gesture and went away… never saw him again.

I don’t think I’m on that server anymore… pretty sure…

Started in Wrath…had no clue. Was leveling my first character, a paladin. I joined up for a dungeon in that new LFG tool. Deciding that healing would be fun to try. End up in Stockades. Healing was sooooo hard!.

I was specc’ed for Ret.

ha, where to start.

  1. Logged out to look up quest stuff on thott bot
  2. Didn’t equip a range weapon on my hunter til like lvl 30. Didn’t know i could.
  3. Thought lf meant if. (If enchanter for blah blah blah)
  4. Stood outside dungeons waiting on groups to ask if I could join.
  5. First weapon i had went red so i purchased a new one. Didn’t know about repairs.

Oh the good ol days.
