When will we be able to mail cross faction to our own toons?

I kind of agree. Everything else has been merged already. Mounts, pets, achievements, pathfinder, AH, etc. I think players should be able to mail items to their own toons cross faction if they are on the same server. I don’t think it would screw with the economy all that much if at all.

Correct. And in addition, those two accounts must have separate bnet accounts.

i’ve been able to buy auctions from my other account that is also in the same battlenet login: for example wow1 can buy from wow2, but wow1 cannot buy from any character in wow1. so long as two accounts can be logged on at the same time, one can buyout auctions from the other.

it’s pet battles that i know of that require a different battlenet login, as only the first account online gets to do pet battles.

That’s your opinion, not Blizzard’ss and not everyone’s.

When? Never. By saying “when” you imply that it is supposed to happen. That is just your opinion. There is no such plan.

They are not “your own characters”. They are “opposing faction enemies”.

Way back in 2003, before releasing this game, Blizzard made a decision between 2 game models:

Model A: multiple characters of 1 player are like fingers: all extensions of 1 player

Model B: multiple characters of 1 player are separate players. At best they are “friends”.

Blizzard chose model B and stuck with it for 13 years, with only a few exceptions (“account-wide” things). They were amazingly successful. There is no reason for them to switch to model A, the one you prefer.

Hmmm, I’ll have to try again, cause when I’ve tested in this in the past year, it didn’t work.

That’s what the auction house is for… the AH is cross faction, so just have your new different faction toon post something at a price that no one is willing to pay and have your character with the gold buy it (i.e. post a gray item for sale for 1 million gold). You can also do the same with the BoEs just post them at higher than AH price and have your new toon just buy them.

But in all honesty, the easiest thing imo is to just buy some tokens with your gold, and buy a faction swap, just make sure to load up that chatacter you want to faction swap with all the gold or valuable vendor items or boes they need…

…this is probably the best way to transfer gold currently, since pets are in collections and thus account bound.

Battle pets or a wow token
Not limited to server to boot.

Because of your mail boe to yourself that self can then mail to others on the opposite faction.

I agree. If anduin can mail cross faction, we should be able to.
In all seriousness though, a work around would be to get on your horde character (if it’s on the same server) post a pet for a price higher than it goes for, then get on your alliance character and buy the pet. Sure, there’s a bit of an auction fee, but it’s a way to transfer gold fast to other faction alts.

While I’ve not run into a point where I wanted to mail things cross faction on the same server seeing that I tend to be on a faction heavy server (didn’t want to be a lone alliance on area-52 for example). I do agree the restriction at this point is pointless at least in my opinion.

Cage a pet and sell it in the AH or have a friend help with the expensive piece of cloth.

I think this is a feature slated for patch 9.6. After they implement the ability to trade food, potions, and flasks cross server in an instance.

Hmm, can you still use the AH in Booty Bay to do this? You used to be able to bid on your own items cross faction (if I remember right).

You can’t buy from yourself in the auction house either, unless it’s a separate account.

What are you going on about, this is something that would benefit everyone.
The horde and alliance auction house is already merged into one, it’s just stupid that we can’t send items to ourselves.
I’ve been able to in SwToR and Rift ever since they launched, and you can talk in say across faction on both games. Not being able to mail gold to your own alts is just dumb.

You can’t buy your own auctions though. That’s been said multiple times throughout this thread. You need a second person you can trust. Ie. A guildie/buddy.

But if none of them are on at the time, that’s where things get difficult.

But the problem is trying to find out which pets sell well, and then waiting it out until someone does. Not to mention needing a deposit, which, if I’m L1, I don’t have.

Things we need:

  • Cross faction, same server mail
  • Void storage turned into a server wide bank that can store anything

Try getting enough to train mining; farm some copper ore and sell it. From what I’ve seen on a couple servers that should make you enough gold for a deposit or two pretty quickly.

You may just have to do the first 5 or so levels the hard way.

Back when I started to play Horde, I just gave a friend a bunch of gold on an Alliance character to give the same amount to my Horde character.

I also faction changed a character and stocked him with gold first, so that the gold carried over with him between factions.

You really only need a start up, then can get rolling on the AH and questing for more gold.
