When will low population servers be merged or connected to larger servers?

Outside of RP servers I don’t see the point to “servers” anymore.

With sharding and cross realm groups it’s possible to be outside, on a high pop realm, and everyone you see is from a different server anyways.

Server culture doesn’t exist anymore. That all died with sharding and cross realm stuff anyways.

What, like Guild Wars 2, which has crippling FPS issues in even unpopulated starter areas?? Or FFXIV which doesn’t have cross-realm AT ALL without a party invite?? This isn’t some Mickey Mouse game running on maintenance mode that maybe sees a couple thousand people log on a day. The only one comparable to WoW (and indeed is bigger at present) is FFXIV. And they legit have to LOCK character creation frequently.

A server cluster and “cross realm” are not the same thing. ESO has two servers total, one NA and one EU. At their peak they’ve had millions playing.

I’ve been begging for low pop server mergers since Cata I wanna say.

I did the responsible thing, I re rolled on a high population server instead of waiting around. Guess what, that server is also dead. I am not re rolling a third time.

Feel free to look up the progress on my server raid wise. It is a joke.

Update: I decided to move to Stormrage along with many of my guildies. Waiting for Blizzard to fix the problem was just decreasing my enjoyment of the game.

Didn’t they have a massive problem when they tried connecting a few realms awhile back, and after that huge fiasco stop dead. Instead of learning from it, they just gave up it seems.

Yes, that appears to be the time they stopped. Then all mention of realm merges by Blizzard were locked, deleted and/or ignored.

I only remember it because a YouTuber was on one of those realms and posted a video about it.

Op,have you ever went through a merger if not you wouldn’t wish it to happen even for an economic view,it would seem a bright spot to clear things up,yet it’s a complex rearrangement that will cause more harm than you would desire.
