harder difficulties would be easier. lower the amount of lives.
hardcore difficulty- you only get 1 life.
I think people are getting the wrong end of this. It’s not about gogogo or rushing people, it’s about presenting a challenge a player has to optimise instead of simply endure. You can do it in much less intrusive / arbitrary ways than timers though. “Kill add that spawns before it’s cast goes off” is a really simple / obvious one.
The only reason blizzard won’t implement it is because it would effectively kill M+. People are already fed up with the toxicity of other players and having to group for hours lol
Sometimes real life happens. I live in a house with two young children and “rambunctious” doesn’t begin to describe the youngest who ropes her older sister into doing all sorts of nonsensical things. If I want timed content, I’ll go do M+.
There are other ways to increase difficulty. Mage tower encounters don’t have timers and they’re sufficiently challenging through mechanics and scaling.
So long as the theres a requirement for the better rewards to be solo then I’d be fine with it.
No need for timers or other players tho.
Keep that stuff in m+ please.
You get delves and freedom from mythic + and now you want to turn that into mythic +? Nobody will solo it then they try groups followed by Delves+ is toxic and here is why and the cycle will continue.
I mean… several of them do. They’re just not displayed as a stopwatch ticking on your screen.
I would never do Delve+ and I don’t think it would be as popular as normal Delves. I dislike timed content and I think a lot of other people do as well. Horrific Visions just barely made the cutoff for me when it comes to timed content.
There could maybe be something like a soft timer. Where you have to finish the Delve in the time limit to get bonus gear and achievements but if you fail the time limit it rewards the same as a normal Delve.
Then make it require a higher skill ceiling. I’m not opposed to making Delves more challenging to rationalise better rewards.
Or don’t and make it easy loot. Doesn’t matter to me. People getting gear doesn’t twist me into knots like it does a lot of players on this forum.
With mage towers you can die and start over without worrying about time. Or go AFK and die and start over. Can’t do that in a M+ or a theoretical timed Delve.
Putting a timer on Delves would be a HUGE MISTAKE.
Make more tiers for higher rewards would be fine but NO TIMER!!
You want timer then run M+ keys and have fun. Don’t ruin Delves
Yea I don’t get this.
There was a topic wanting M+ without timers when delves exist.
Now we’re getting a topic wanting delves to have timers when M+ exist.
What?
Ok but once you start you still can’t just win by surviving and eventually whittling it down. Whether you can try again doesn’t seem particularly relevant. Eventually a mechanic overlap happens you can’t handle, or a stacking damage buff gets too much, or raest gets too fast and catches you. These are all examples of abstract timers.
The problem with delves awarding better gear now, even if they were harder versions of what they currently are, is that you can simply survive to the end and eventually succeed.
If you enjoy doing delves, when you have free time to run M+, would you prefer a M+ version of delves? Or would you rather go run regular M+? You don’t have to answer that question because the majority of the community already HAS by having blizzard add in delves which shows most people prefer playing alone or with less people.
Sounds like a divergence of what people want. I assumed that people preferring delves would obviously prefer a timed version of delves as a way to access mythic track gear instead of running M+. But the average player that plays delves won’t even participate in them which by itself is not a problem, but they are already complaining about it being a possibility even though they would be in the same spot by not participating in it.
Hopefully never, as it doesn’t make any sense to do so.
The main difference is that you can solo/ small group Delves and some people want that added challenge. I can see how the thought is appealing to some people. Even more the people were Delve are easy for them.
Sure hope not. If they did it should also be separated as a prestige thing. It should not be a modifier that has gear behind it. Perhaps achievements or something.
Why not? Would it upset you if it had mythic gear for them? Just don’t participate in it and you would be in exactly the same spot as you are now.
Probably the obvious factor of M+ already being a thing. You can sweat out your timer for loot over there. ![]()
Luckily I don’t and probably won’t ever have to make that choice.
That’s fair but if the community is actively showing they are avoiding M+ and that it is dying, then why would timed delves not be a good alternative?

Tough one there. Think about it guys.
If M+ is dying how would it hurt to turn delves into a dying mode?
