shadowlands when the majority of people i regularly did stuff with quit for first time since i started playing.
Idk somewhere overtime… The devs took a great game and stripped pretty much all the RPG flavor and passion from it. Now the world is a mindless grind.
“Not yet” is an acceptable answer?
Shadowlands: third expansion with borrowed power. Less and less I see the point of working to achieve things that are gonna be taken from me.
Button bloat can be avoided by other means, means that have been mentioned many times in prior threads, such as baking some temporary-power attributes into base abilities (eg, Fiery Brand acquiring the Revel-in-pain shield).
I agree with those that see temporary power systems as lazy game development.
The BfA Story started out well and then it was disappointing.
Instead of fighting with the Horde, Anduin started to cooperate with leaders of the opposite faction, we started to face Azshara in his pool and finally, for no reason that had to do with a war between the Horde and alliance, we fought with N’zoth, that as Azshara showed up for no reason and we had the Devs’ interpretation of Lord of Rings meets Dragonball GT.
This disappointed me and the end of the story was emasculated for the alliance.
Sadolandia started and I realized it wasn’t good. Thorgahast stink, Maw stink.
Lendaries stink. History stink.
We had that vexing episode of Tyrande failing to fight and avenge the night elves and being seen as a loser and Elune being portrayed as apathetic and idiotic about what happened to the night elves and with zero willingness to punish Syl or do anything about the Night Elves dead. What makes her an immeasurable moloid.
Redeem Syl.
And in the minds of the devs this tragedy is somehow inconprehensible, epic for the players and for the alliance it should be an apotheosis.
At this point, I gave up on this ridiculous xpac.
Have Mercy!
Beginning of Legion, tail end of Legion was when it REALLY just hit the fan…
I quit the day that they removed Resilience/PvP Power in MoP and didnt come back until a year or 2 ago.
All of this
- 76th time entering the MT and still not getting past p1…
- Endless grinds
- Devs stating I can do MT in Shadowlands gear but it would be much easier to do in Time walking gear… but hey it is balanced
- Toxic Players
- Grinding out M+ only to get anima
- Blizzard caving to the 1%ters… forgetting the smelly casuals and semi casuals are their bread and butter.
- No Blood elf Druids…
- Blizzard STILL not fixing the comfortable riders barding
- Getting feared my mobs which are clearly well below my item level… dang did we not defeat the burning legion and some random mob in the wild makes me run in fear?
- Dislike having to share a city with the alliance… The whole premises of WOW is Ali vs Horde. Now I have to walk around the same city with them?
- Natural Cities with guards as squishy as the low lvl mobs outside the walls.
- Repair bills from MT content.
Guess that is all I have for now.
When they took away demonology metamorphosis.
I started hating the game then.
They went in a bad direction in BFA when they decided to increase power gaps and more levels of borrowed power on top of each other. They forgot that just a few years earlier PvP kept WoD from becoming a ghost town and basically told them to bugger off with 8.0. Shadowlands was a big FU to most of WoW population while rewarding the Korean style hamster power seekers on their treadmills. 9.2 looks to be utter crap IMO and for the first time… i have no interest in the new zone content. Maybe one or two go throughs in LFR just to see the raid and see it all end.
Probably Wotlk when Survival hunter spec took a turn and also blacksmith special routes. It became irrelavant. However I think around Cataclysm and MoP is where it slowly took a turn due to talent tree specs and WoD nailed it for me.
I’ll see your scaling, and raise you a cross-realm and a sharding. Call!
Oof… Yeah… That was a hard hit too. But scaling takes the cake for me.
When dailies made you feel like you had to login or you would fall behind. Think it was Trial of the Crusader in WoTLK. I quit for years because of that crap. Now it’s the poor state of PvP driving me away and Blizzard’s half-assed solutions to remedy it. The people making these decisions are so out of touch with reality.
Progression is an illusion when scaling is used. They just wanted to try and tune wow with a volume knob. They no longer want to and / or are incapable of crating content that once 12 millions played.
Think of the lost potential revenue.
Time. The passing of it has dulled the appeal somewhat. It’s nothing a new expansion will change, merely mark the passing of more time.
What I mean is as I get older, work more, the appeal is lessened to log on when compared to a bed. Heh
When it started to become an e-sport. When systems took over for content.
Absolutely, it is.
For me, the game suffered greatly when it started trying to become an e-sport.
Less rewarding casual content and more stuff trying to appeal to the 1% (and those who fancy themselves the 1%).
As a result, it attracted the wrong people to the game and toxicity ensued.
