Completely agree with OP. Recently came back to wow and decided to give raiding a try again. Wanted to start with LFR to earn some gear to progress into harder content. Worst wow experience ever. Have no idea when personal loot was removed or why, but group loot is infuriating. Of all the items that dropped, I was able to roll on 6 as a Fury warrior. Another warrior in the group (Arms) somehow won 3 of those 6 items, and two of them were weapons! The rest were won by other classes, and I never rolled higher than a 20 on any of it.
The arms warrior died in the first phase of every fight and was still able to roll and win three drops while being dead on the floor for 90% of the run. Meanwhile, I never died and maintained moderate dmg throughout the run and earned nothing. How is that fair or rewarding gameplay Blizzard? How is this in any way a good change? Absolute disaster. Getting older means having less time to play and needing that time to feel fun and rewarding, otherwise it’s pointless. Personal loot was a fair return on investment. Group loot is not.
