It’s fine to not use it… on my dungeon set up I maybe only hit it if it lights up…
Going full Lightniing side of the tree with a dash or two on the other side and using Stormbringer as your hero talent is totally fine…

I would love some offensive hydromancy. If Pokemon can figure out pressurized water and massive waves hurt a lot I’m sure Blizzard can.
I was disappointed when I saw Divinity: Original Sin 2 had a hydrosophist spell school and all the offensive spells were frost and all the utility ones water.
I ended up downloading a mod from the steam workshop that added actual water damage spells. They would apply a “scalded” or “drowning” debuff that did pretty good damage.
