They did… they asked when they could unlock normal flying and look at the responses…
The only correct response
I don’t get it tbh. Dragonriding is a neutral to me. It’s not particular fun, interesting, or as engaging as people make it out to be, but it also isn’t nearly as bad as people claim either. It’s one of those things that if it wasn’t in the expansion I honestly wouldn’t give a damn, but there is an absurd level of zealotry behind the idea.
I will admit, it is fun to watch forum posters who you know only ever clear things on LFR to throw out vague similarities to “Skill Issue” when someone complains about what is frankly a pretty dumb gimmick that gets boring after 10 minutes or so. Guess we finally found something in the game the lowest echelons could be decent at (not that it’s really hard, maxing out glyphs carries a lot of the system to make it impossible to screw up) while others could not be decent at and they’re know getting elitist over. . . riding a mount in a game.
Easy fix with an easy solution which should be an easy win.
Plenty of games have this feature and nobody has issues with it. This is not an accessibility issue as I’ve seen plenty of posts about people with accessibility issues praising the feature. This is just you, like many others, trying to find ANYTHING to complain about. If you don’t like the game or its features just end your sub and leave.
Can you please leave me alone before I report you for harassment because I don’t know who the hell you are and get off my back and another thing being disabled doesn’t have nothing to do playing video games or have an opinion and also I don’t need to hear your life story I have problems of my own thank you
The problem is it wouldnt be an option because it would be better than dragonriding. Regular flying has more benefits and would be the only thing people use. Your disability doesnt mean the developers need to not develop mechanics that are fun to the other 80%+ of people who do not have your disability. Most people can do dragonriding just fine.
There wont be acceptance or understanding with a small minority of the games population screaming to have something nerfed or taken out because they cant do it.
I opted not to play those games after hating how it worked, and hating that it interfered with how I choose to play the game. Travel on a cooldown just slows me down when I want to go fast.
It’s in classic if you want it so bad. Hopefully they don’t bring they boring old flying mechanic back to DF. Move on!
That option has been in the game for over 15 years. We are not asking for them to change or delete dragon riding, we as asking for the option to have regular flying. Choice is a good thing.
There are people who legitimately get a physiological reaction to the visuals in dragon riding, much like the train from the Grimrail Depot. My guess is that the development team is working on a solution, much like they did for the train, for those who experience vertigo from the visuals. In the meantime, to minimize it, make sure your camera FOV is maxed out in game settings. Also be sure to sit far enough back from your monitor during flight to see around the edges of your monitor, it won’t be perfect but it really does help.
Worse in practically all terms
More fun
…what?? Lol that doesn’t make sense…either its worse or it’s fun, can’t be both. That’s an oxymoron.
There is a legit concern for those who get motion sickness, the wind tunnel effects certainly don’t help matters, yeah its immersive but there are those who cant stand it. Honestly in those situations, Blizz should offer a setting for motion sickness that turns off those effects. Shouldnt be too hard to isolate it to a setting and it would deff be a QoL improvement for those who have those challenges.
so regular flying is indeed better than Dragonriding?
of course it is, its unlimited. But they made a mistake introducing unlimited flying to the game in bc. The moment true flying in unlocked the world becomes pretty empty.
It’s back in Shadowlands, or WoW Classic. Go there.
Have you tried taking motion sickness medication? I am completely unable to play any game that runs on the old (I think? it’s the one they made Hexen on) Arena 3 engine IF it is in the first person. I actually DO end up vomiting - it’s a disconnect between my eyes, ears & brain that causes it (it’s also NOT uncommon). Taking a Dramamine or generic version of it about 30 minutes before playing prevents the motion sickness from occurring.
Your other option is to just run on ground mounts until they reveal Pathfinder.
They do have something of a compromise for people who either aren’t good at it or simply can’t due to irl reasons. It’s all the flight paths, this expac has them everywhere. Every questing hub, every area of interest, easily the most flight paths per square yard or mile or whatever they use to measure distance of any zone I’ve seen
The original OP and pretty much all the rest of the ones like this are saying have both, not nerf what you got or remove it, the ones calling for removal funnily enough are the ones that want DR everywhere and normal flying removed.
so naturally they are responding to that.
In fact most of these posts are going the same why, op asks a reasonable question about when they can fly normally and then gets responses like,
Its a you problem, if you don’t like it leave, or the need to remove old flying and add DR everywhere.
Its unfair and uncalled for.
And for the record I do not have issues with it, or doing it, but Yes I prefer normal flying mounts for various reasons.
you do understand i am playing the game right? your complaining that i complained about something while i am just giving my 2c and literally playing the game at my own pace. sorry i don’t rush to get glyphs as a #1 priority. I didn’t state it was a make or break for me either im still playing the game and still enjoying it so idk what your complaining about.
also you shouldn’t need to ask for alternatives thats like asking someone with epilepsy if they can kindly post a seizure warning prior to starting a game that can cause seizures. skipping an expansion isn’t a solution as well. if someone chooses to play a game and has paid to play they should. Did i state i wasn’t having fun? did i state it was a make or break feature for me? no.
your turning mole hills into mountains.
