A lot, obviously. The argument is that if people can get the gear by “cheating” then why can’t people who play honestly also get some gear by putting in time.
Translation: “All rewards in the game should be limited to players who do the hardest content. There should be absolutely no persistence rewards whatever. I should be able to bring in my overgeared group and one shot something for the best rewards and then log off until next week, but the overwhelming majority of players should be playing for love of the game, awe of its perfection of design, and respect for my godliness.”
You got what you wanted, right? Casuals are exiting your game in droves, and you can’t wait to kick them on the way out, but harder. Because surely if you do they’ll come back and beg you to take their cash for carries.
So you’re of the opinion that high rating should be a prerequisite for bgs, content that used to be “casual PvP” but is now just a cesspool of overgeared gankers farming currency to get free welfare loot?
Would you be fine with a vendor who sold PvE gear that was unlocked by killing a certain raid boss, but the currency could be farmed by spamming normal dungeons?
How are either of those situations anything but unearned rewards?
I’m of the opinion that PvP should be accessible as it was before where people grind randoms for like a few days to a week for their BiS so we can play Alts comfortably actually.
I’m not sure about that personally, with people that I know and myself included it would be preferred if we just had the old plug and play system that was present in previous xpacs where all you needed to work on was leveling, and a bit of honor grinding here and there so that we could compete.
dont forget to add the removal of renown tied to honor gear. i hit honor gear cap, and dont have the renwown on my alt because all ive done is pvp. im not going to go do that pve stuff ive already done on my main just so i can pvp. just not going to do it.
It is not our game. Despite what the self-important here think, GD has zero power when it comes to design decisions. The ‘corrections’ Blizzard appears to make each expansion are not about ‘fixing’ the game, it is about opening up the game to the less skilled. That is why they wait until the top end players have completed the content.
And if you really want to propose fixes to problems, try proposals that improve the overall game instead of just to compensate for your lack of ability.
Yea everyone should be on the same item level for fair competition. No one in Arena should have a gear advantage. It should be about skill not item level. Anyone who is opposed to this has severe insecurities and somehow needs better gear to have self worth.
Just let players gear up so they can play the game again and actually compete. Gearing comes first, competition comes second. Rating means nothing if you have a gear advantage. You didn’t prove anything. It’s interesting that the PvE players seem to be the ones with the problem of letting people attain gear for fair competition.
That’s what all my proposals are. The majority of players are asking for this for a healthier and more competitive game. Why don’t you stop by the AWC thread announcement and see what the players think. They are literally hating on the announcement because Blizz won’t fix the gear and remove Rating requirements and allow everyone to attain BiS PvP gear for fair competition like it used to be.
You and your ideology are dead wrong on how this game should function. It was healthier when players could casually gear up. You sound like Ion on an Alt trying to defend his dead wrong takes on how the game should be. It needs to stop. We can fix this game when the Devs relinquish their harsh Elitist attitude on gearing and remove the ratings to acquire gear.
