When Are You Going to Get Rid of Rating Requirements on Gear So We Know When to Come Back

I support the rating requirement tiers. I think that’s fine.

I just don’t know why I can’t LFD my way up to the first cutoff point without M+. Why does it have to only be something that benefits from putting a group together manually?

Why does that M0 RNG loot box only sell to people with a 1500+ rating on the PTR?

Why even have LFD in the game anymore? Obviously they don’t want people to do it.

I remember back in Classic. Johnny could just buy the best gear from the AH.

You can’t fix anything. Your ideas are terrible.

I don’t. You should have gear then compete to get rating. That is how you have healthy competition and a bigger pool for competition.

9.1.5 won’t bring players back because people still can’t gear up. There is massive amounts of RNG, Rep and resource grinds and worst of all…Rating. People will just play other games where that isn’t the case. They are out there and most have gone to them. I know I have.

Why should they change anything for you when you’re going to give them the same amount of money just to troll for attention on their forums?

I know I say this a lot, but I honestly just wish LFD and LFR worked alongside Korthia progression.

Let me experience the dungeons, the world, or the raids, and let it all go toward the same casual gear progression system.

I just miss feeling like LFR and LFD had optional value. Ilvl isn’t really that interesting to me, but if that’s what they’re going to throw my character, then at least let it make sense.

It doesn’t currently make sense. It’s an absolute mess with numbers all over the place.

In vanilla/classic.

Lionheart helm was BiS through phase 6 wasn’t it?

Also hand of justice dropped from a dungeon and was BiS through the whole game.

It was good game design.

ah OK, i didn’t play then. thank you for the correction!

There also was Quest gear that was BiS for a long time. You could casually gear up and put together competitive gear.

The only thing I remember is that you used to be able to buy mythic raid gear from the BMAH in Pandaria.

There are two schools of thought. Some people think gear should be tied only to effort, while others thing it should be tied to both effort and time and that if you spend enough time playing and stay subbed long enough you should be able to keep getting better gear.

There’s a reason most games fail, it’s because people think their bad ideas are good ideas and make a game based off of them. This post is a good example of someone with a bad idea who thinks it’s a good idea.

FFXIV handles this rather well, I think. They have middle patches (like the x.x.5 patches) that arrive a couple of months later and provide the catch-up mechanics for the remainder of the patch.

WoW could adopt something similar. I think it kinda tried to do this with Korthia’s rep gates, but I think something a little more natural would be far more welcome than a single daily hub’s rep grind.

Would love to see the return of a badges system though. Yeah, it took a while to get some legit gear (2-3 weeks per piece) but you knew what you were working toward and you got the pieces to put toward it along the way.

This was done for a time in PvP where higher rating only granted you more Conquest. So you could gear slightly faster. However ANYONE could be fully geared eventually just took a little longer. Which is also fine. Just as long as everyone arrives there which causes better competition.

The only gear in the game that was supposed to have exclusivity was Tier sets in Raids. Which I do think is fine and that has worked in previous expansions. However overall the player base had an easier time gearing up to compete in those raids to attain that gear.

100% agree. As long as it takes longer then the other methods there’s no reason besides hate keeping that others would disagree.

If you put in ur time you should get the gear simple.

nope.

if you do the content you should get the gear in which that content drops.

if all you do is rescue turtles, you shouldn’t have access to the same gear as someone who has killed the mythic big bad, or the m+15 dungeon, or the heroic boss,e tc.

want the gear? do the content.

The game is the content……

If I run 30 dungeons to get one 256 piece and you run one mythic to get it who’s putting in less effort?

Because of skill you are getting it faster.

I’m still spending 5 hrs to get one piece while you are spending 30 minutes.

Stop using the factually wrong statement of “ohhh you just want everything handed to you” statement

It’s fine tho, the systems and the game listening to players like you are the reason of its downfall.

Give it a few more years and WoW just gonna be the next wildstarz

If I had a nickel, etc., etc.

You want better gear, you do harder content. Otherwise, what do you even need better gear for?

I’ll give you a minute to figure it out. Cause there’s a obvious answer that people tend to magically forget or are too dumb to figure it out.

Which is it?

Doing world quests faster? If you have a point, then make it.
