Can confirm - letting go of right click when hitting blink solved the problem. Was able to get gold on first try.

I don’t use right click and was still disconnecting. Whats frustrating is that there’s an achievement and pet behind doing these poorly tested, buggy events. The only saving grace is that you don’t need Gold to get them, so this will be a once and done forever event for me.
I don’t see the point of the devs churning out so much content at this rapid pace, when its so awful that once you’ve done it, you’re feeling relief that you never have to do it again.
