A bit of both. I’m wearing a top and pants of the same set atm, but different shoes.
My mogs are pretty simple. I never use shoulders and rarely use gloves. I will use bracers and cloaks on occasion. I prefer my mogs simple though so often I don’t.

Same. I try to go for a very traditional druid style without it being all Tier 1 or 2
I take a set that I like and I switch up pieces that I feel match… I always have a set as my base though.
I usually try to put together multiple pieces, however, if a set is too good for the most part, (Deathlord set -helm/shoulders, for example as it’s what I use) I will use it as the bulk of my transmog.
For the most part though, I generally like to avoid using entire sets as I view transmog as a conduit for creativity and just having a set destroys that feeling for me.
Personally, my mog style is what many will call ‘None to derpish’ and I agree. Others have told me I have trash-mog looks, which validates my existence more than insults it.
Said it before with mogs: I’m good with me, you good with you? Which is part of my mog style up in here. Heh
I want more maleslut mogs, but I rather uses my mask on all characters.
I wear what I want … but get bored really fast I change my mog almost everyday
It’s probably weird but I like to transmog around tabards I have. Lots of times I have to make something up out of different pieces but some tabards look so nice with specific sets!! I cannot wait to get this character to max to come up with some fun stuff.
Oh and no more freaking blank belt stripe thing when your hiding your belt for tabards coming in shadowlands!
This mog is my only exception. Generally I only mog around laughing skull masks.
I am super excited about some mogging I plan on doing once prepatch hits.
Depends on the character.
Usually, I go boring and use a raid/pvp set. Because I like the way some sets look regardless if it’s cliché to do so.
My Lightforged Draenei Paladin likes to use the PvP Recolor of the Nighthold set, or the Normal variant of the Nighthold set (I just finished collecting yesterday ) but with the floating crown/halo that comes from the Lightbringer set from The Black Temple (since I haven’t finished collecting the Tomb of Sargeras Normal reskin).
I do not go for “sexy” mogs, because I feel that just ruins the aesthetics of the game. But each their own.
Sometimes I try to put together a custom transmog outfit to varying success.
I randomly go through my appearances to find individual items that look well together and will suit the character.
My leveling characters are almost naked. I always turn off accessory pieces that will be often replaced.
Unless a set really fits a theme I’m going for, I’ll generally mix and match.
This toon, for example, is using a questing robe from Legion, shoulders from the veiled chests in Argus, a PvP belt purchased with a Sunwell token, gloves from a Winterspring quest, and boots from normal ToT.
Full set of a partially removed set for plate classes. And for other armor types I wear full set typically from legion if I can. Don’t really care about appearance just care about collecting (if and ever if I have time which sadly I wish was these past few months).
i agree…
BUT, i do have a few mail wearers who wear non tier sets… but I don’t view these as being “sets”, and will use alternate appearances for the original items where possible, to make it feel less like a “lazy mog”.
my mail wearers seem to mostly wear classic appearances.
I try to piece them together because it makes it more unique and more of a chance for people to double take when they see my character. I’ve made a pretty good one for frost and unholy and my blood one is almost complete.
On my alts I typically use a full set however.
i usually go with a theme. not really trying to follow a set, just look cool even if the gear is lfr nyalotha lol
Half and half.
I very much prefer pieces that look like they go together than have them be all different.
I prefer to put my own sets together and weave across expansions if I can. Complex/simple doesn’t matter much to me but I tend to err on the simpler side for my most permanent mog sets.
Sometimes I mog a set, and other times I’ll piece stuff together from many.
