What's your favorite/least favorite zone in Cataclysm?

Even worse are … were maybe … but at least for a long long time (I have not played Retail for long) Darkshore, near the ruins of Auberdine, where you still find the fresh bodies of the people of Auberdine in and out of the waters.

Or the lady on Azuremyst near the landing where Elune’s Blessing used to depart (Sign’s there still saying Boat to Auberdine) She will still be there giving you a Quest to take the boat to Auberdine and ask for help - pathetic that they never bothered to change this.

If we’re talking new zones I liked Hyjal and Deepholm. However, I did not vibe with Vashj’ir at all. I could not get into the whole underwater thing.

Yes…

One of the worst expansions ever that destroyed the classic wow world…

Cataclysm ruined Azeroth.

Favorite is the overall world update. The old world is legitimately some of the worst zones I have to slog through. Ill only miss Barrens. The rest? Good riddance.

Worst is Vashjir. Its not that the zone is bad, it’s that underwater movement and combat is bad, as well as there being too many quests for an underwater zone. It overstays its welcome, and the final 30ish quests really make it go from a mid zone to just awful.

Apathy, I tend to agree with a lot of your posts, but not that one. The zone revamps were really the one, singular thing I disliked about Cata. I liked all the new zones. Especially Uldum and Deepholm. But come on… Vanilla Redridge was an incredible zone.

It’s purely my opinion. I don’t like the old world, especially the Alliance zones. I sleep through the story, the enemies are painfully annoying for no reason, and alliance quests only get good when they hit the neutral zones of tanaris, un’goro, etc.

I also just outright prefer the questing style of cata and onwards. I prefer a hub and focusing on that area before moving onto another hub, opposed to a singular hub disseminating quests for the entire zone. I’m not a fan of running from point A to B to A to B to A to B to A.

I get vanilla’s design was to encompass the entire world, hence quests like Link’s quest going from Ungoro to Tanaris to Winterspring to Tanaris etc. I get why other people like it. I just don’t. Flying 10 minutes to do a single quest just to fly another 10 minutes isn’t fun to me.

The only zones I’ll legitimately miss is Barrens, Tanaris, STV (Horde side only, I couldn’t stand the Alliance side for the first half, pre booty bay). All the rest? I’m good.

Edit: I actually do enjoy Ungoro as well, just hate Link’s quest.
