Favorite holiday snack is cookies.
My boyfriend was buying ultrasharp cheese for a while. I’m eating brie and cream havarti now.
I main a warlock… I understand completely. XD
Cookies are always good! =) especially the little butter ones in the blue tin.
Oh nice! I am a sucker for sharp cheddar but havarti is good on sandwiches with ham or roast beef. I like brie with strawberry jam on toast =)
When I was in my late teens an older guy was enjoying some limburger cheese in my vicinity. I couldn’t understand how (or why) he was eating it. Now I’m getting old enough that if I try it, I think I might like it.
Some people drink out of the toilet.
That doesn’t make it a pleasant experience.
I remember when “cutting the cheese” meant something else entirely.
My father used to buy Liederkranz cheese and spread it on pumpernickel bread. My mother wouldn’t let him keep it in the refrigerator, because it would get stinky. He would keep it in the insulated milk box outdoors in cold weather.
I think it was made by Kraft. When they decided to stop making it, after a while they sold the product to another company, which was unable to recreate it because the unique strain of bacteria that gave it the proper flavor and texture was lost.

I love this Cheese Ball Recipe perfect for a Holiday snack.
Cheese Ball Recipe
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 8 minutes
Total Time: 18 minutes
Ingredients
- 8 oz bacon, chopped, divided
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 16 oz cream cheese, room temp
- 1/2 cup Mexican cheese, shredded (4 cheese blend)
- 1 1/4 cups cheddar cheese, shredded and divided
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped and divided
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped and divided
- 3 Tbsp Ranch seasoning
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp ground black pepper
- 1 1/4 tsp poppyseeds
Instructions
-
Cut bacon into small pieces and sauté until cooked. Once cooled, set aside 1/4 of the bacon for the topping.
-
In a bowl, add 3/4 of the bacon, 1/4 cup sour cream, 16 oz cream cheese, 1/2 cup four-cheese blend, 1 cup cheddar cheese, 3 Tbsp green onions, 1/4 cup walnuts, 3 Tbsp Ranch seasoning, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp pepper, and 1 tsp poppy seeds. With a wooden spatula, mix all ingredients until well combined.
-
Finely chop the remaining 1/4 of bacon, 1/4 cup cheddar cheese, 1 Tbsp green onion, and 1/4 cup walnuts. Mix together with the 1/4 tsp poppy seed. Spread this mixture onto a cutting board.
-
Form a ball out of the cheese mixture and roll the cheese ball over the toppings to fully coat and shape into an even ball as it’s coated. Serve right away or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
That looks tasty!
Would you believe it? we had 3 of those cheeses (Havarti, Brie and Manchego) on our snack board last night along with a large variety of snack crackers and meats.
My favourite in my personal life would probably be cheddar. Usual grated within toast.
My sweet snack would be kinder bueno. sucker for chocolate with wafer.
that’s awesome! Ya those 3 cheeses are great for a party platter or deli tray =) I love cheddar in all forms. Cheddar is amazing, especially if it’s aged for a long period of time. =)
I never heard of it til now. My curiosity is piqued about the world of intense cheese that may be available for me to experience, should I seek it out.
There’s people who are “supertasters” and people who aren’t. You can easily quantify if you are or not, by sticking a litmus strip-type test in your mouth (we did this in school).
People who aren’t, are the ones who as children would eat liver and brussels sprouts and say “it’s fine.” They just don’t have the receptors to experience that intensity of flavor. They could eat an intense cheese and say “it’s fine” but I suspect that they could never truly experience the flavor, and thus not fully appreciate it.
Then there are supertasters (like myself) whose taste and smell have dulled somewhat with age. Decades ago it would have been “that’s super gross!” but now it might be “that’s super duper tasty in a unique way.” I’m getting pretty excited just thinking about this.
Makes sense. I am Canadian. Pairs really well with apples.
i don’t care much for cheese tbh only thing i like cheese with mainly is fries with chili ( chili cheese fries ). as for holiday snacks well i mainly only like egg nog during this time of year. i can drink a LOT of it but sadly the grocery store near my house only sells it in 1 pints now days. that doesn’t last me long maybe like 5 minutes. i rather just buy it by the gallons. i don’t like the alcoholic ones either. i don’t care for that.
pair it up with a nice moist ginger bread cake and yea. haven’t had one of those cakes in a LONG… time.
Favorite cheese is muenster, especially the end piece.
Canadian award winning cheddar!
World class stuff right here imo.
Yall have given some fantastic cheeses snack and drinks! =)
I tried Brie this year! maybe my taste buds have matured but as someone that isn’t a big “cheesey”, i was pleasantly surprised!
I still refuse to try mushrooms though
