What's with all the teaming and cheating in STV events?

Title. Is the player base incapable of playing the game without exploitative cheat spots and teaming? This is almost exclusively alliance players btw.

That’s kinda the mode lol, it’s not cheating they just know what’s optimal.

Some classes get massive return on blood coins by just AoE’ing areas like Mages and Druids, apparently that just got nerfed.

Melee cleave groups also exist.

Anywhere that people are spawning back to life en masse and you tag/kill a few before you’re killed, that’s the meta for this event.

Fun varies depending on which class you’re playing, and how overpowered you are of course lol.

Hunters just suck at this event, because if our pet dies, we are rezzed immediately and silenced, can’t revive/feed pet until the silence is over, by that time you’re being attacked again and likely not ready yet, so yeah, it sucks lol.

In a player survey 78% of horde players admitted to cheating while the rate of alliance cheating was only 19%.

You’re describing playing the game normally. I’m describing getting into spots you normally cannot get to by using the speed boosts from the rez blocking any melees path from getting to you, and teaming with multiple groups of 5.

Another reason it was a mistake.

I’ve played both factions. Alliance heavily rely on groups and exploitative strategies. It’s why they don’t queue for AB anymore (they can’t win without a massive advantage).

Oh like killing you from the trunks of trees and on top of buildings and whatnot?

Yeah that’s kinda cheating, moreso in the realm of clever exploits but probably still enough to get them suspended if you report them for that, lol.

And yeah, my first STV when the event was new, was tons of groups of Alliance, all in the same guild, not killing each other, and keeping the zone locked down.

It put a sour taste in my mouth, got my epic reward bullet bag and kinda have been avoiding STV since.

As far as I know, there’s literally nothing to prevent people from doing that- teaming up in groups of 5-mans and not killing each other on purpose.

I’ll die on the hill that this event was poorly designed, even if some people really like it.

It’s just got too many flaws for my taste. Ashenvale was better, even with mostly PvE targets, it was fun seeing Alliance and Horde clash on the roads. STV has no such feelings, just GY camping for the most part lol.

And then the vendor gets camped by Alliance because my server is mostly Alliance. The battle to reach the vendor is more fun, in my opinion, than the event itself.
