Those are completely different Draenei with a completely different definition of “Lightforged.”
MU Lightforged are battle hardened good guys who fought evil. AU Lightforged are inexperienced zealots who are afraid of having to fight evil, so they are eliminating /converting everything that is not Light based.
Not going to lie, the AU Lightforged story is kind of interesting, but I also wouldn’t want to see it in game because WoD was so off the walls crazy and disappointing. The launch content was great, then it all went downhill.

I like my LFD paladin. Since prot is about the pull in and AoE grinding down more AoE a good thing.
Demon killing bonus is nice as well. Both on the legion leveling and now her return as a 120 to work order halls and such.

Well , while I would be lieing if I said I have never seen an attractive Draenei , the reptilian - alien - furry - factor makes me involuntarily shudder.
Likewise , the name rolls off my tongue in an unfortunate way . For some reason , " Draeni " reminds me of " drain " = " nasal " = " nasal drip. "
That’s all eccentric aesthetic though . So ignore if you please.
Tauren / highmountain tauren, gnomes / mechagnomes, orcs / maghar orcs all look like different races than their counterparts. You can tell them apart by looking at them. belfs and velfs are different factions so distinguishable by that fact. draenei and lfd are the same frickin thing!
I can agree that HM Tauren , LF Draenei , DI dwarves and Mag’har Orcs could’ve been just a costumisation option .
I think that the best part of this Expansion are the Allied Races . I don’t think that there is a worst of them. Maybe less popular. I think that they all look great . We need definitely more Lore about them … Books and etc.
Junk gnomes to me are the worst true some players like them but what is to like about a gnome with metal parts. 
We Lightforged are battle are battle hardened warriors fighting evil incarnate without the home field advantage. The other space goats are just refugees from an over sized S.S. Minnow.

Another false parallel. The horns are markedly make the distinction between the two. Regular Draenei have a white skin option. Side by side they look identical to LFD.

False parallel number 3, and not even related to the topic. KT’s are distinct from stormwind humans, whether you like them or not is irrelevant. LFD, are more similar to their original race than any other released thus far.

How so? Our orcs were tainted by fel energy, mag’har are untouched. Lightforged are infused with Light, normal draenei aren’t. They’re still all draenei and orcs. It’s a similar concept between them.
Just because the title answers it’s own question doesn’t mean I have to agree with the OP’s answer.

the mag’har customizations are in another league compared to the LFD.
That is what is referred to as ‘hijacking the thread’. The intent of the thread is to outline the horrid state of LFD and their lack of customization compared to every other allied race.
Your disfavor with Kul Tiran is an answer to an unasked question. Start your own thread on such a topic if you feel the need to comment further.

Maybe so, but my point was just that many of the allied races aren’t too far off from the originals. The OP was questioning why they were marked as different playable races. Customizations weren’t really part of the debate.
