It’s not entirely true to claim that every single piece of violence we commit in this game is morally bad. There are layers. Content creators and twitter personalities who know the lore better than I do, like the Red Shirt Guy have pointed out problematic aspects in WoW. I won’t read any of the replies here, cause you really can’t have a good discussion on this topic on this forum. Lots of folks don’t have the range. Rest assured, others know what you’re talking about.

While it is true that WoW and other games do have less than ideal depictions and stereotypes, sometimes it’s fun to be a murderhobo and kill anyone and anything you come across, other times it’s fun to help everyone and not kill anything, and other times it’s fun to just do what pays the best/gets you the best reward. It’s not irl so there is some degree of separation in doing things in a game you wouldn’t ever do irl.

You do realize that violence has always been the way that the majority of the world has solved it’s problems for it’s entire existed. Today is no different. Wars currently rage on and always will. To pretend like we are ‘above violence’ as is suggested by the statement “It’s considered inexcusable” is foolish and naive and, honestly, dangerous.
p.s. Why in the world is the OP flagged? I don’t agree with the sentiment, but this person said nothing inflammatory or aggressive. It’s so sad to see all these crybabies unable to handle an opinion that differs from their own.

The difference to the past is today’s violence is by proxy. People use others to commit violence so their hands remain clean and, in a 1st world setting, free of criminal charge.
Violence in self defense is always warranted no matter your profession in life.

Violence is a tool of the state to keep people in line. Most people out there bellyache if they stub their picky toe and do anything they can to avoid any kind of discomfort.
