Getting Ji Kun on my first attempt of ToT.
Other than that, probably when about 50 Horde myself included and 50 Ally got stuck in an expired Legion WQ unable to leave.

Yup was gonna say this too. The great ZG virus of Vanilla. I remember going into the AH in Ironforge and seeing scores of bone piles thinking it was a horde invasion, then I fell down dead, lol.
back during cata there was a DK glitch where death and decay could hurt anyone and a lot of players would stand by the main gates of SW/Org and keep dropping it causing every low level player to die in seconds
I’ll also use something nice. I was on my hunter looking for the fox spirit beast. I didn’t even know it existed until moments before I went to look for it. At the time, I had every spirit beast available but that one and had no idea how long it took to respawn but I was ready for a long haul if need be…several of them took me days to find since they’re actual rare spawns, not the “rares” that we’ve had since Timeless Isle. Naturally I wasn’t the only one looking for it, and there were several opposite faction players there as well. I wasn’t paying much attention to chat but did eventually notice a lot of odd emotes from a Horde player directed at me. So I looked and the rare was right next to him and his buddy. I was so panicked because I wasn’t expecting to find it in less than an hour, I couldn’t find my stupid tame beast ability. Then I really started to panic because I was POSITIVE someone would come “steal” it from me. But nobody did and I got it. The Horde players cheered me several times and I thanked them several times.
Completely opposite to when I was first looking for the others. I wanted Skoll from Storm Peaks desperately because he was one of the best looking ones (IMO) at the time. I joined a group with a friend from a different server (PvP). I saw a Horde hunter and figured he was camping as well…so just as I was about to leave, without me noticing (I was flying, he was on the ground) my rare mob notification went off. In a panic I landed to try and tame it but…it was just the hunter. He already had it and kept its name the same and at the time, the addon I was using couldn’t differentiate since not only did he keep the same name, but since it was a PvP server it was something that was attackable. Yeah. He got me good and then ganked me and laughed. That’s when I realized he must’ve been camping for TLPD instead so I resurrected around the corner and proceeded to mount my TLPD that I already had and taunted him from a safe distance for about 5 mins before going back to my own server.
Several years ago I was doing the Eye of Eternity…heroic.
Both the Blue and Azure drakes dropped on the same run/boss kill. I was speechless.
Also saw the Swift Zulian Tiger drop twice in 3 weeks…back when you could solo/2 man it. I won it the first time with a roll of 17 and my running partner got it 3 weeks later.
1st place: The Corrupted Blood incident
2nd place: Someone kited a horde of dragonkin into Orgrimmar
3rd place: We were having a discussion about religion in guild chat. Then, a GM starts talking to us with the names John, Mary, and God.
There used to be a rare glitch in WoW, where two different models would get mixed together.
Well, a long time ago, back in Cata, this glitch happened to me while I was playing my female Night Elf Hunter. I was questing in Vashj’ir, and then I realized that my character portrait looked kind of weird. I opened up the character interface, and I saw something horrifying… My beautiful female Night Elf had a BEARD!?
Apparently her face got mixed together with the face of a male Night Elf. So yeah, I basically looked like a male Night Elf with boobs on that day.
I would show some pictures, but this was a long time ago, and I unfortunately don’t have them anymore
Start of 7.3.5. I had been farming xmog for weeks in Silithus, days worth of playtime. One day I get a teebus long sword , awesome. So I keep farming and you wouldn’t believe it but got another one in the same day (different server).
I hadn’t seen anyone in the groups of 5 before that, nor anyone after that. Many days worth of playtime spent there and both Teebus I receive in the same day. Amazin’
Leveling in Panda dungeons and in this one called Moshugan Palace, killed the 2nd boss and I sprinted to the elevator to go up and pick pocket the mobs in the hallway. I was kicked and I message the tank why, they said “You didn’t wait for us” I found this really infuriating and laughable at the same time.
I thought pet taunts were automatically turned off through LFD/LFR?
Why do you even care if a pet taunts at that level or in any leveling dungeon for that matter. You realize the hunter specifically turned it ON after entering the dungeon. That alone tells me what kind of a player you’re dealing with so why even bother.
I love these threads and this is always my go-to story.
Early BC I’m in this raiding guild and this Rogue joins. All the dudes in the guild get super hyped when the Rogue enters Vent for the first time because gasp IT’S A GIRL.
Fast forward like 6 months and this Rogue is getting carried through all kinds of content, given drops all the time (master loot), people fall all over themselves to say hi to her etc.
One day, she joins in Vent and starts talking, and its a guy voice. The vent goes dead silent as everyone tries to figure out what is happening. “Hi…are you girlrogue’s brother?” etc
Girlrogue has disconnected
Girlrogue has left the guild
It was a guy using a voice changer the entire time.
Oh my goodness, i forgot all about that!!
Wow Mu’uru - pre-nerf?! That’s crazy dude
Back in MoP when we still had glyphs, I was in Twin Peaks on my warlock chasing the druid flag carrier near the edge of the map. I used Demonic Leap to catch up to him but before I landed, he Typhooned me off the side of the bg. Well, I had Glyph of Falling Meteor equipped, and somehow landed safely on the invisible floor at the bottom of the huge pit on the edge of the bg… I was able to run around under the bg for awhile before someone noticed where I was on the map and started raging at me in chat for hacking. I tried Life Tapping myself to death, which wouldn’t allow me to reduce myself below 1 hp. I ended up afk’ing out in shame.
The dev team or whoever is pulling their strings tops my list as the craziest thing I’ve ever seen in WoW.
Semper Fi!
On the 4th of July a couple of years ago some random guy /whispered to me: "Happy Red, white and Gooooo! hahahahah! "
I answered “???” but he had logged off.
Still haunts me to this day
This doesn’t count as crazy so much as something that I really enjoy: escalating boop wars in battlegrounds.
When you have one group join a battleground already intending to knock people off of high ledges or into an abyss every chance they get, and then the other side gets annoyed, figures out what’s going on, and comes back twice as hard trying to boop as many people as they can.
I don’t care if I lose a battleground if lots of boops occur. Giving, receiving…they all crack me up.
This reminds me of slow falling from LM to BS with four other mages, PoM pyro and whatever instant casts we could to take out the one guy guarding BS, while facing the mine. Didn’t even see it coming, just instant death from above, lol.
Mainly because I want to set the standard early for courteous and customary group behavior for dungeons, no matter how early. If every tank had the mind set “ehh it’s not that serious at this point” then hunters may never be told that they need to change that. You’re right that he may have just been trolling and turned it on but I’d rather give the benefit of the doubt and ask them to keep it off anyway.
Great stories though guys, I enjoyed reading them
