I’ll usually just ask them why they’re doing what they’re doing. If they respond, then I can guide them, if they don’t, then I’ll just leave it at that.
Personally, I’d turn off the meters and just enjoy the game.
But then again, I don’t run LFR.
Step 1: Discover what the word “objectively” means.
A healer never dying and using mostly dps spells sounds like it has possible other explanations than being objectively, inarguably, bad.
They probably knew exactly what they were doing.
Bring it up in /i and then start kick vote if they keep doing it.
Then move on.
Either it passes or it doesn’t. Someone will eventually figure it out – the masses or the player.
Context missing… did your group need more than 5k HPS from that druid? If there’s some 410 druid in there looking for a tier piece healing for 100k HPS then who cares?
healers are being pressured to lay out damage as often as possible…
that is the fault of the elitist dungeon and raiding culture in wow…
your healer is trying not to get booted…
sometimes it gets out of hand.
Leave or say nothing.
If there’s one thing i’ve learned in my lifetime of online gaming, unsolicited advice is almost never taken well.
I also don’t feel it as my responsibility to assist someone to not be bad in a video game. In the hyper efficient environment of gaming today if they continue to be bad they’ll continue to be a magnet for negativity and they’ll either rise to the occasion to become better or they’ll become your typical general discussion poster.
The same boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. Don’t be a potato.
What was his gear like? Theres a chance he just came straight out of time-walking/heroics, and had very little use of his healing kit besides throwing damage in.
And, its LFR so you gotta realize some people are just bad at videogames. Its hard to understand sometimes, but its true. You dont think videogames are difficult, but for some people it might as well be Neuro Science. So, I wouldnt look too much into it.
Thats what LFR is; a place for people who dont really play the game, to still get to get gear and do the story.
You gotta intentionally try to only get 5k hps as resto in a raid. I mean just casually dropping a efflorescence in a 25man would push you well above that.
This is a potato mentality.
I play FFXIV, I play WoW, I played ESO, I played SWTOR, etc. etc.
There is no MMO in gaming today in which healers are not expected to do damage during downtime. Not a single one.
I say this as a R Druid main. You need to learn to use your full kit otherwise you’re not only gimping yourself but your party as well.
There is no logical argument that supports not using all the tools available to you as efficiently as possible.
It’s LFR, just like random dungeon finder. You are going to be playing with kids or casuals or even trolling hardcore raiders. If you are that serious about raiding, join a raiding guild. I’m casual but I actually in randoms but I totally expect the three earlier groups mentioned. The way she goes boys. The way she goes.
I mean it just sounds like they qued as a healer for the quicker que with no intentions of actually healing, some players are annoying like that to where they’ll que up as a tank or heal and then try to only DPS. Calling them out on it won’t do much either, other than piss them off and probably get them to mouth off at you.
god, the internet sucks. too bad we’re all addicted and chronically online.
I am dead laughing here, Xwolf this dude called you out.
Yep, you are a wise Dk.
May I ask what subjectively bad players are? Does that mean that most people would have a bad opinion of them but in truth they may not necessarily bad?
LFR is the short bus for MMOs, just enjoy the ride and look out the window.
Generally speaking I send a whisper asking if they’d like advice. If they’re resistant, then it’s LFR so I don’t let it bother me. If it’s in my pug, I thank them for coming and wish them luck. However, I think I’ve only encountered this twice this entire expansion, so if it’s few and far between no harm no foul.
Add them to your ignore list. You’ll be less likely to group with them and interact with them in the future. Anything other than that will not be helpful. If they’re receptive to learning then there’s the possibility you can teach them something, but in my experience, the worst players are the ones who don’t want to learn anything.
Politely ask if there’s anything you can do to help, and don’t do progression content with them. Be honest or they won’t strive to improve.
