What's one thing in WOW you'll never forgive the game devs for

Removing the Wrath Gate Scenario from Wrath of the Lich King. Really wanted that Scenario in retail wow for storywise canon.

Removing Vale of Enteral Blossoms originally before Garrosh destroyed it. Again storywise for the best endgame story content from the golden lotus against the mogu…

Removing the Wrathion Questhchain all together. Seriously bring it back.

Just any storyline that was cut or removed from retail wow and not played again really.

Adding Helf Skins to Void Elves

Shoulda left our blueberries alone and let the Helf echo chamber continue to cry about it

I’ll never forgive them for being obese, purple-haired, woke, weak, leftoid goblin people.

shadowlands taking a steaming pile on not one, not two, but 3 races culture by saying that everyone becomes fuel for robots. the entire expansion basically told all orcs, tauren and pandaren that their cultural view on ancestry is wrong and they should feel bad.

Yes, for anyone who cares about the story of WoW, Shadowlands was the absolute worst thing the developers have done.

Metaslop game design and FotM.

Not changing Shadow Priest Light based visuals to purple by default for literally its entire existence. Every time I cast Power Word: Shield I die a little inside. So does every other Shadow Priest. If you can’t make it dark light at least let me turn it off.

Hate what they are doing to group play content and dividing the community.

I was mad about them taking old tree form away from druids, and I am glad to have it back now, but they really, really need to stop swapping me out of tree form when I do certain spells. Just let me stay a tree!!!

The way the game model devolved into:

“We need to release a new end level zone and spend all of our development time on the end level zone, ignore the rest of Azeroth. Then throw away the end level zone in a future expansion and make it irrelevant, because we need everyone in the newest and greatest end level zone”. All loot, drops, and crafting gets made obsolete ever expansion release.

Really changed the game from a MMO / large vibrant world, into a small end game zone. Also turned leveling and the world lore into a “hassle”. All other RPGs treat leveling and the world as an experience. In WoW it got turned into a “chore” that you pay to boost out of. Really disappointing. I blame Cataclysm’s failure to drive new sales as the root cause for why the dev team fully embraced the “a new unknown landmass was found” mindset.

Introducing flying was awesome at first but it was the first step towards catering to convenience rather than satisfaction. “Here, now you can skip this portion of the game” rather than “let’s gradually teach our players how to play and maybe don’t lock endgame systems behind long questlines after you’ve done them once”

Going from “Let’s make questing somewhat challenging so that you’re ready for dungeons, and let’s tune dungeons so that they make you ready for raiding” to “Here’s a quest telling you exactly what to do. Enjoying it? Too bad cuz you’re out of dailies, come back tomorrow”

Not giving Troll a toggle option to show shoes. They go out of their way to make the ugliest leg warmers that I can’t stand. Just give us the flippin shoes, its even easier design wise.

Archeology: All they had to do was give us sparkles on the ground to click right away, instead of chasing a dumb red or green light all over the place and bamn 1000% better. Running back and forth was painfully dull.

“Never forgive … for” - is way too heavy for a video game, but… here’s something that bothers me:

The look and feel of hunter animations/actions. Back in Vanilla and TBC as an example… hunter bows and guns had animations and sounds that felt a lot more clean, and weighted. I don’t even really know what I’m seeing and hearing with the current style… it’s like it went backwards in time to feel like I’m playing a game in 1996. Instead of a clean/whistling arrow or a nice, loud gunshot sound, it’s more like what it sounds like when you step on a wet sponge or something.

Gutting WoW’s RPG elements under the guise of QOL changes.

Making profession bonuses a thing of the past, making race/class largely irrelevant, adding queues to everything, dismantling server communities with cross realm, removing class training, removing profession training, removing attunements, etc.

I could go on for a while. Basically, they took the soul out of WoW by removing hurdles, character building elements, and challenges for the players to overcome because they were viewed as “annoying” by a minority and the corporation didn’t believe it would appeal to the new demos they were trying to reach out to.

Reality is, they just made a game for nobody in the process.

This game doesn’t have that much power over me.

This, this is the correct answer.

True tbh, I still play despite that. “Never forgive” makes it sound like they killed my cat.

Bringing back Tyrael’s Charger.

Recolors are one thing, but I think that was in really poor taste on Blizzard’s part, and set the stage for a LOT of really bad decisions since.

I would reluctantly accept the argument that the fact that I am still here is proof that I have forgiven everything.
